RC Tachometer - True RPM for Android
I have just used this app to check the calibration of the engine tachometer on a boat. The enging is a 3 cylinder 4 stroke diesel. The "but" is that I had to set the upper and lower rev limit in the app within reasonable limits to stop the app fluctuating wildly between what appeared to be multiples of the actual. For example, setting the limits to 1000 and 2000 helped the app to read a reproducible 1650 rpm. I am satisfied.
Doesn't work, it says that my 2 stroke engine is running 1300 rpm while it's running somewhere around 11000 -> 16000 rpm
Thanks
Inconsistent results when measuring head speed on R C Heli
Developer responded to email in literally three minutes!!! (Google messed up and I was unable to checkout, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the app!) Just Excellent!!!!!!!!!
This helped me set me lawn mower rpm. Not the most elegant, but it works!
This app is actually a decibel meter that assigns a numerical value -based on a algorithm- to sounds. Theoretically this should work, not accurately, but should work. Since I cannot get a consistent reading, it may just be a random number generator.
This app works great and is very accurate. I checked how close it was reading and it was dead on. A must have.
The best I've seen so far! This actually matched an electronic tach as well as vehicle gauges. Someone finally nailed it.
I use this for my RC planes all the time. My planes are electric, mostly twin blade props, and it's very accurate. Worth it
4 star only because it doesn't keep data so I can check later on.,:( I hope that can be fixed on an update ! My mobile is an Alps i9300
I'm very satisfied, I used this app in a test for my bachelor degree and it performed very well with a 2 blade electric propeller (in the rpm range specified by the user)
Does not work
Crashes every time i run it, and can't figure out why it won't let me choose 0-8000rpm without telling me that's its a large range and i should adjust..
HTC One X Not much time to check yet but works fine on my car at idle. However: 1. It would be better if it installed with the name from the app store "rc tachometer" rather than "rc headspeed", most confusing!! 2. Could it please save the last used settings. I will use, Car, 4 Stroke, 4 Cylinder, most of the time. It would be good if it saved this for the next time I start the app, rather than having to enter it again each time I start the app. Many thanks, John.
Looks good! Test tomorrow.
I was skeptical but it actually works to a reasonable degree of accuracy.
Crap Does not work
Might work? Crashes every time i run it, and can't figure out why it won't let me choose 0-8000rpm without telling me that's its a large range and i should adjust..
So far so good.... Looks good! Test tomorrow.

Really cool I was skeptical but it actually works to a reasonable degree of accuracy.

It is not consistent. Tried using it to help me set ign. Timing on my truck and it would jump round on what it was idling at.
