Perfect Task Switcher for Android
This works excelently on my old Android 2.2 phone. It's fast and I really loved being able to close out of the apps. Unfortunately, in addition to not being able to see thumbnails of the apps, any attempt to switch to one force-closes the app on my S3... I'll miss this app!
Never provides and previews of applications so just ends up being a scrolling list of icons. In the switcher the app title is unnecessary, as are the lines around the previews. I'd like the previews (if they'd work) to be larger on my larger screened Galaxy Tab too. In essence, look at webOS card view for inspiration Dev.
Cannot ignore any apps so your launcher shows up. Says "thumbnail not available" overtop of all the thumbnails. Cannot close all open apps. But still a nics task switcher. Switches between running apps, not frequently used apps. Could be really nice with a few simple changes.
..making the webOS-to-Android transition a mite less painful. Still not nearly as elegantly simple, but much less clunky than regular Android. Make the notification bar stay visible during task switching & it'll be worth 5 stars to me. And, yes, I donated. DROID Pro
The app works perfectly except that in place of a screenshot of each app, it says "No preview available." 5 stars when this gets fixed! HTC Amaze 4G rooted stock
Great app! But, in many cases it doesn't show any preview, so could you please add an app name to see? Otherwise confusing, apps look almost same
No previews on Gingerbread. Well in the next update.... But last update is from 2011. I mailed the developer to ask him if he still worked on the project. No responce and his website is dead. I hope the developer is still alive, and makes that update. This app has great potential. I guess the developer died.... and forget Android 4.2.2
Brilliant thanks.Nice if more screenspace is used e.g.like HTC expose;preview can be smaller. Like idea of voluntary ads,my only app with ads on. Sad is that Andre isn't updating it anymore...
Yep, nothing is perfect, but this comes durn close. But it doesn't follow the vert-horz once it's showing -- not a big deal. Thanx...
very nice switcher. my only complaint is that the fling style of the ui feels sloppy. one swipe should move the list 1 app at a time like webos.
This or itchingthumb.I'll use this for now. Please remove "Perfect Task Switcher" text above apps. Bigger preview, add ignore apps.Drag to close=hard
Not really perfect. It would be better if the task switcher would come up after double clicking the home button. Still a great app :)
My favorite switcher despite a couple of issues (e.g. no previews on rooted devices & lot of trouble ending tasks using tap/fling or x) and the occasional fc. Hope to see updates addressing these soon.
I have been looking for a mod like this! Lurked xda for months only to find the answer here on market.. go figure :)
I've been testing this since first beta on my OG Droid. Current Beta 4 on Moto Bionic with ICS: Will be excellent once kinks are worked out. FC on Bionic when selecting app. Needs option to "flick" one app at a time instead of slide/scroll. Doesn't show app previews (never has since first beta). Dev-PLEASE put some effort into the preview issue and add an option for single-preview "flick" (rather than letting it continuous scroll). These two items will make this the best app-switcher on the market!
Using CM7, I already had my search key long press programmed. If it could be menu long press that would be perfect.
Only two options to activate, no choice to use NEITHER option. I have CYANOGENMOD which lets me customize long-press home and that is exactly where I want PTS to be. NOT in place of my home key, and NOT in place of voice actions! Also, it seems like it can't seem to get previews for ANYTHING.... It also shows background processes and the actual real launcher as open apps... Very amateurish.
Great app, run a little slow on the ascend, and no thumbnails as everyone has been saying. But a great app for phones without multitasking built in
Works really well and looks great. Trouble is that on tablet need to be able to press home twice to put device to sleep. Fix and 5 stars!
It would be good app if we had preview thumbnails (& the photon should be able to handle it) but all those black squares is not good looking at all.
needs expose style grid view and the quicker it gets higher res previews for root phones I'd be happy to pay a quid for it then also not all apps show previews like opera mini
Love being able to switch between things with long press of search button. But randomly shows tasks that I haven't opened. HTC inspire
Would like to switch things up though. Would be better if when home button pressed once it takes you home, and twice opens task manager. But not complaining, its a great app!
Great app, love the interface. Very natural. Only suggestion is maybe you could make the thumbnail for unknown apps to be the app icon?
Small, fast, low on ram consumtion, zilch cpu burden & almost seamless integration with stock and rooted launchers! If they thing of a better app layout I would gladly give it 5 shining stars!
As its still in beta but it has the task switching function just what i wanted but once in settings if we try to clear the null which is not present then its just stops the app from opening by using home key so please provide an update for this please
Really good, but on my Motorola Milestone running CM7 Android 2.3, no preview available. Anyway, still very good.
Please could you one day add an option for hiding certain apps?
Wow, this is EXACTLY WHAT ANDROID NEEDS!!! This app is AWESOME!! Let it default to ur home key, just press home key 2x for your normal home key action
Make the auto center feature optional. Once you get high-res previews (and get previews showing on CM7) I'll donate and change my rating to 5 stars!
Needs to support gingerbread previews!!! ASAP!!! Also the close window X should be bigger and not on the actual preview window cuz its hard to hit...
No preview available text on phones that cannot show them is the only downside, but a big visual negative. Makes app quite unlovely to see :(
Wud be better if u cud remove the phone I mean fair enough u don't wanna remove da home screen but da phone dial screen once used it can't be closed
Instead of pressing home you should allow holding it,and you should make it do an animation of the tab growing.also make it a running service instead of a task so it doesnt die. And make the task look 3d like in sense 4
If you never tried WebOS on a Palm(HP) Pre, you will love it. If you liked the Pre, you know this one could be better, but it's the best Android has.
Would have been nice but pressing home twice doesnt send me back to primary home screen. Please enable home key long press for phones like Galaxy S
Tap on home shows prefs, long tap search key shows squat, set to open switcher when tap on app still goes to app prefs. A perfect piece of garbage.
Background should be clear. Scrolling should snap from app to app, instead of shaking for a second before settling into place. Otherwise perfect.
No previews which I wouldn't mind if I could hide the words no preview available. I'll keep it for a few days and see how it feels

As far as functionally, I've tested them all, this is the best. It takes only a quick min to master and the long press and Swype feature is brilliant. on my preview tiles there is an overlayed message that says ”preview not available” even though the preview of each program is present behind the text. make the notification bar accessible in tile preview mode, voice integration and options for preview tile display would be my only requests. Well done, team, well done. Peace.
