Perfect World Clock for Android
For me, it works as advertised - I've had no issues with it thus far and I've had it few months at this point. I'm living in Africa (Kenya) currently studying for a masters degree so the app comes in handy for helping me to know when to try reaching family and friends back home. I just upgraded my smartphone from a Windows phone to an Android in Dec. 2011 - I have found that with nearly all my apps I have to use them a few times before I get comfortable with its particular characteristics. I would strongly suggest using an app for a month or two BEFORE writing a review. No matter how much the app itself may encourage you to do it much sooner. :-)
Doesnt even have the capital city of the country my wife is from and visits often. Pointless. Needs more work. . .
I really like the design and usefulness of this app, but I noticed my GPS searching constantly. Turned off current location and it still searches for GPS until I end the process.
While no one likes it, we in the US are stuck with it. Thus our apps need to be adjustable for it. Without it, this app is useless to me.
That it constantly run gps in the background even after you disable the find my location option. Shame
Never ever download it in any of ur gadgets...it never shows the timings of some cities... The moment i installed and go throughed it the nxt second i hav unstalled it...:( oops i'm nt satisfied wid dis app...uhh worst App.... :(
The last update has made this very buggy (SGS2 ICS). The scrolling hangs in between which is very annoying. Also, there is no import or export or save options for selected cities, so that they can be imported after a format or upgrade. Also, don't have any update for weather in selected cities..
I used this app on older devices with no problems at all, but on my JB device this app drains battery like mad - 26% in a few hours just because the app is constantly trying to get a GPS Position even when I've manually disabled the feature in the options dialog. This is a no-go.
This app looks nice, but has a woeful interface. I still haven't worked out how one can actually remove a city once its been added.
I have friends all over the world I talk with. This let's me see a list of clocks with their name and time on each one. The only thing that is off is that for my friends in Australia it is tomorrow and it does not indicate that. But all times are right on!
The widgets are the size I was looking for and I like the widget customisation options. I would appreciate an option to set the level of transparency for the widget background, rather than just opaque/transparent. The widgets take some time to update when the phone comes out of standby (e.g. in the morning, it seems they update when the minute figure changes). Using a SGS2.
This is the best-looking such app I've found, but it consumes battery power too much. I suspect this is because I used it as a widget. Some discussion suggests that this is an underlying OS or GPS issue, and not actually the app's fault.
I can't figure out how to work it. I thought it would let me have a clock showing on my tablet all the time but it doesn't. In order to view the different time zones I have to open the app every time. What am I doing wrong?
Anything but perfect. A fundamental requirement is that it updates the time in real time. For whatever reason it often lags requiring the user to access options and then exiting without changing anything. That seems to trigger an update. Come on André, sort it out.
Ive been looking for a widget that would only display the country's timezone. Nothing else but jist the time and date. The other world clock widgets are so annoying and useless. They include the system time and the countries are selected. This app is very simple yet useful! Exactly what im looking for. Thanks!!!
Widget won't change time. Set it to GMT - 7 and varies from 6 to 24 hours off. Hasn't been accurate in over a week. Doesn't stay accurate with reboots or reinstallation. Email to the dev has failed per the mailer daemon - looks like this app is done for.
My team is in India and US west/east coast. Works great. Only issue is that it is 5m in size and does not allow itself to be moved to SD card. 5 stars if they add ability to move to SD card.
I've used this on a galaxy Nexus, Moto x and now a Nexus 6P. It works well and does everything you'd need but it is consistently one of the biggest battery drains on all the devices I've used it with.
I had my doubts about this cos i had downloaded other world clock apps and they weren't very good but this one actually works! It has the cities i need it for so i'm happy with it!
I noticed that the widget display incorrect day/night background (black/white) for some locations. Eg. When it was 11:30am in tokyo, the widget background was black!! Should be rectified immediately..
Time zone data takes up extra 3MB+ space! Please fix widget so it discards downloaded unused timezone data. At least add an option to clear time zone data.
I loved this. Now widgets wont work. City data saves on phone not SD(5+ MB). Unable to keep a 5+ MB app on phone. Very disapointed.
I was initially really happy with this app, it looks nice. Then I realised the clocks on the widgets were from by about 4 hours! System clock is correct and so is the time within the app when I open it, but the widgets don't display correctly making this app a complete waste of time.
Crashes more often than any of my other apps. Also, the app data takes up a huge amount of space on my phone...over 6MB! It should be stored on the SD card instead. Otherwise a nicely designed app.
Cant find all cities thru search even if they are in the database. Forces you to search manually thru thousands of cities. I am sure there is an easier was to search for cities out there but not on this app! Pity...
This frustrated me out and i even thought my Nexus 4 has problem. The GPS icon keeps blink and blink even until i reboot. I have put the wrong suspicion on facebook and even my camera apps. Now that my android 4.2 stock clock app has world clocks so i can finally get rid of this outdated app.
Uses GPS even with Current Location disabled. Drains battery fast!
Latest version was keeping GPS on, draining my battery. If that gets fixed, I'll reinstall and be a happy user again.
How can you have a world clock that does not list Greenwich, England as a city?
The only clock that I have found that actually shows time AND time zone Im currently in. Example "12:00 Central Daylight Time"
I have been using the widget for more than an year now and liked. It is simple and does the work. But it started sucking all of the battery in my new nexus 5. All I have is a small widget on my home screen with transparent background and it takes 75% of battery according to the OS's battery usage. I waited for the developer to fix the issue but nothing so far, so am on the look out for a similar app.
This has my favorite world clock widgets. Basic with no color options yet highly functional. I still use it on my non-Android 5.x device, but it seems to have a freezing issue on 5.x when the lockscreen is activated. Unfortunately, I think the developer has abandoned this app and I haven't found a better replacement for the widgets.
I really tried to like this app. It does most everything I want in a format that I like, however, it eats my battery. It's insane; it will run my battery flat in a couple of hours. As soon as I uninstall the issue goes away. I've tried it a couple of times because I really like it, but I can't use it if it's going to use that much power. I'm using a RAZR (XT912) with KitKat (4.4). Maybe it's something specific to this OS? I'll check back because I want to like this app. PS. I really hate the forced use of Google circles or + or whatever they are cramming down our throats to post a review. Where can I ding Google for being creeps lately?
I wouldn't have called this app.. Perfect world clock, I mean where the hell is Paris??
Like to see 'GMT+' time difference at a glance.
Two big problems. You can't add a specific timezone (e.g. UTC), only cities. The city spelling must be exact, e.g. Zürich not Zurich.
Not sure what happened bit this app is taking 25% of my battery now. Hope this fixed in next update. Have to use another app in the time being
Does what it says, but change the options so I can pick a holo dark theme please, thanks
