Planets for Android
The app has gone rubbish used to be good bow really crap
A user-friendly way to check the sky for planets and know where the planets are. Simple and effective design.
It's a handy app if ya have a bit of knowledge of the solar system!!
Doesn't show detail
Sir how to put manual
Automatic orientation does not work properly
It's a awesome app
Well... you tried
Rubbish
:-?
I've used this app for years and it was great on all platforms including Android on Samsung Galaxy S4. However, since I upgraded my phone to the S6, which has stupidly got rid of the menu key, I've lost access to all the functions. Any chance of adding a menu function onscreen? EDIT Menu button and all functionality is back with the latest update! Thanks!
This was a great app; very clear and simple. But now the graphics are all distorted on my android. Hopefully this can be fixed with an update.
This app has a great concept, but has remained unchanged for many years. There is some fertile ground here for the future. What about extending the "scrollable-planets" into maps, (just as its inverted sky-view function is)? You could add names of surface features, for example, a list of planet facts and info, a history of observation space-craft visit. And why just stick to planets? We have images of Pluto, Ceres, Charon and Vesta now, and what about all those moons? Extend the concept, where possible.
I used to love this app. But now the automatic orientation doesn't seem to work with my new phone. It's pretty much made the app useless.
No auto rotation on android 4.1 or above, useless. Have now uninstalled. Would advise using Star Chart.
Worked fine on Samsung Galaxy S III, but automatic orientation is disabled on Galaxy J3 (Android 6.0.1). Please fix. This was one of my favorite apps.
Works great on some older devices and is really simple to use. However, it doesn't work on newer devices (e.g. Samsung).
Every time I go on it,it glitches and I can't do anything the app sucks!!
After the latest update. It's still not working on Samsung A5. The option of automatic orientation is disabled. Please fix it.
What's this supposed to be?? This is the most stupid and useless app ever.
Rotation doesnt work on Samsung T310
No automatic orientation, Sony xa
Works allright on my Samsung s4
Guide to planets
Nice app for tracking milkyway for photographer..
ENLIGHTENMENT
Works better on the Ipad there you have your choices of views, 2D 3D Visability, Globe ,and Options ,unlike here only one view. Visability will show you what time the planets are appearing in the sky and if u click on a planet it gives u information about it. SO 1 STAR HERE FOR THE ANDROID APP. You need to update and fix this to be more informative and enjoyable to use. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Pro Tablet here. This app says to spin the earth or planet of your choice with one finger... I can not spin anything...
Fantastic app. We need to pay more attention to our Solar System. The Earth's future depends on the energy all around us whether Solar or electro-magnetic. Clean free energy is free for all but corporate ****s ensure we only have access to energy that can be metered. Nikola Tesla is Earth's saviour, just that most don't know that yet.
Its awesome because I love astronomy but the 3D sky doesn't work for me. Everytime I try to zoom out it freezes and stops. Other than that its amazing and it would be awesome if you add the sun and/or pluto even though they aren't planets.
Worked great but prior update means only auto day and time works. i. e current. Looking at future or past date / time allows it's entry, but defaults to 12am 1970?
The graphics are all distorted, stretched out, flashing. This app used to be great, but now it's totally glitchy and unusable. :(
Auto-rotate Graphics are all distorted suddenly after 1.2 updates and still do the same on 1.3 updates
Used to love this app on my iPhone 4 but will not work properly in my android phone. It has no menu for me to look at the earth anymore. Also can't look around the sky in manual mode.
works nicely, can view sky for arbitrary locations and times, find planets, constellations... would be nice if major star names were also labelled, but that's a minor irk ... i use the other imaginateively titled app, Stars, for that :-)
I originally had this app on my iPhone 4, then switched to Samsung S6, still runs well, but for some odd reason, its not compatible to my Andriod Tab 4. Its great to just look up at the night sky and ask yourself questions . . open this app and see where all our planets are, obviously ALL the planets won't be visible to your eye, but some are close enough to see, I also invested in an inexpensive telescope, and viola, the world of astronomy opens up to you . .
Fantastic app wised that you could change the font size due to failing eye sight but that's all . Have to keep finding my glasses when I use it but hey that's life.
Like this one a lot as they don't want permission for everything simple and effective. Great job!
The automatic mode is a got mess and does not aim correctly. Used to work great on HTC One but it is garbage on Samsung S6.
Won't changed sky view to orient , this makes it nearly useless as a teaching learning tool. The sky picture is nice, but I was planning to teach with this app. Any advice for one that works with my phone?
