About PasswordMaker Pro

ONE PASSWORD TO RULE THEM ALL

PasswordMaker creates unique, secure passwords that are very easy for you to retrieve but no one else. Nothing is stored anywhere, anytime, so there's nothing to be hacked, lost, or stolen.

You provide PasswordMaker two pieces of information: a "master password" -- that one, single password you like -- and the URL of the website requiring a password. PasswordMaker will then generate a unique password using a one-way hash, which will protect your master password.

Compatible with the other versions of Passwordmaker for other devices and computers.

See http://android.passwordmaker.org/ for more information on PasswordMaker.

If you have questions, comments or concerns please post them on them on the github issue tracker by following the link above. I do not monitor the ratings and comments here. Also go to the page: http://passwordmaker.org to find other versions for other platforms like the chrome or firefox versions of passwordmaker.

Since they added the import profiles option this is the best implementation of PasswordMaker on Android. It now allows me to actually sync up my password system between my web browser and phone!

As a standalone app it is excellent. As an Android replacement for the Firefox extension it stinks. I have tried every possible configuration - it never duplicates the Firefox extension. Edit: When using autocompletion for the URL, my keyboard adds a trailing space. PWMP does not strip trailing spaces and uses them in its password calculation. After eliminating trailing spaces, PWMP seems to be fully compatible with the Firefox extension. But in my search for a solution, I found PASSWORDMAKER X. It works exactly like PWMP but with a UI I like much better.

Use this. Safe and easy.

Perfect for what I am looking for. A password generator that uses NO PERMISSIONS and doesn't send any content anywhere. The only gotcha is that the default font (for my phone?) make it hard to tell the lowercase l from a capital I (IlIlIlIl) :) Would like to be able to change it. I don't normally have to type the password (copy/paste normally) but occasonally i use it to generate passwords for apps off-phone. (workaround: switch to landscape mode...the font changes to a serif font that makes it clear what's going on).

Saves your master password indefinitely, so anyone who picks up your unlocked phone can generate your passwords for any site without having to know your master PW.

Previous issues I had with this have been fixed and it's now my default PasswordMaker type app. Would be good if font used for password was changed to one that makes difference in characters like lowercase l and capital i more obvious.

Q70%
by Q####:

Very configurable and yet simple.

Z70%
by Z####:

It would be better if it did not star out what I type. If someone's looking over my shoulder, I will deal with that.

Q70%

There aren't any options to import/export/sync settings. It's a hassle to get it to generate the same passwords as the Firefox extension, etc.

Previous problems now fixed! Able to generate passwords ok. Able to save settings. Favorites are a nice feature. Thank you!

The passwords made here (now) match the ones made with PasswordMaker add-on in FireFox. what? Nothing changed, and PasswordmakerX also makes the same passwords. Were android hash libraries broken, but now fixed? I am also experiencing the decreasing Leet-minus-1 bug. How do I see the response to my previous review?!? Dammit Google! :-( . . . . . . . . . . . . . The fact at the source code is on github makes me feel good using this. Thanks! Needs DARK theme. ;-)

every time I choose a leet level it uses the selected minus 1. ie, I select 4, uses 3.

This is the best PWM app I've seen for Android and may beat out the website. However, like most of the apps here, it puts the username in the profile instead of letting me use different ones for different sites.

K70%
by K####:

I have no idea why this app was updated it is now a user interface nightmare, buggy as hell and doesn't even generate the correct passwords any more, at least not with sha1

P70%
by P####:

After the update passwords are not correct. Cannot generate correct default passwords

J70%

Passwords are incorrect, not usable anymore.

I tried quite a few PasswordMaker apps and this is the one I settled on. Simple and easy to use which is all I could ask for.

This app has served me well for several years. It is nice to see it updated with a modern look. It took me a while to figure out how to manually select a profile (long press). It could use a few visual hints. Great update. Thanks for a great app.

I've used this on my phone for years and now it will not generate the right passwords. Something in the update screwed up the settings. This so no longer generates the same passwords that the web version does.

Best Android implementation of PasswordMaker!

This app does a solid job at providing the mobile user with the PasswordMaker experience. The main page gives you all the right info you need for the given URL. The profile change page manages the complex settings well. The biggest issue I had was that there is no way to cancel our of profile changes you may not want to keep. Once changed you are stuck with it. That could lead to problems down the line. The other big issue I had was the difficulty just seeing the custom char set without changing it.

I like it more than the original password maker app. More user friendly. Generates the smart password as my Firefox extension. Can't live without them. I sleep better at night knowing my passwords are strong, unique and hard to crack

Z70%

Wow. What a pleasant surprise. No special permissions required and none requested.

P70%

Works and doesn't require any weird permissions to do so.☺

I just wonder how secure they will be, since the crackers will undoubtedly know about this.

The app does everything the Chrome extension does, which is awesome! But it doesn't generate the same password! So it's kind of useless?! Or am I missing something here?!

Being able to save URLs is the killer feature for me. Plus nice UI for the profile preferences screen puts this ahead of the original android port.

M70%

Won't save changes to profile even when adding a new one, always reverts algorithm to SHA1. Nexus S.

E70%

Better than "passwordmaker" app. Works great on Nexus Galaxy and ICS.

D70%

I've been waiting for a passwordmaker app for my phone that can import my .rdf profile from firefox. I was hoping this one could, but apparently not. When that happens it's 5 stars for sure. I love passwordmaker, and can't wait to be able to use it on my phone.

L70%

Generates incorrect passwords for some sites.

C70%

Creates the same wrong password for several urls, if you can't rely on it then what's the point?

Love it, keep up the good work!
