About Know:BRCA
Know:BRCA is a clinical decision support tool that aims to educate young women about genetic risk factors for breast and ovarian cancers. It helps young women assess their risk for a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation (change) based on their family history of breast and ovarian cancer.
Results can be printed and/or shared electronically with a healthcare provider. With this vital information, young women and providers can work together to decide next steps, which may include: genetic counseling and testing, screening, and other steps to reduce risk. Know:BRCA is fully HIPAA compliant and results cannot be shared without instructions from the user.
Know:BRCA was developed as a collaboration between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (http://www.cdc.gov/cancer/) and Bright Pink (http://www.brightpink.org/). For more information, please visit https://www.knowbrca.org
