About OpenLP - Remote 2.0
OpenLP Android Client allows remote control of a running OpenLP client over a wireless network or Internet.
This is version 2 of the Android client and is work in progress. Not all functions have been developed yet but the delivered functions are tested.
This version of the client works with OpenLP 2.0 but is designed to support OpenLP 2.2 as it has SSL and user authentication.
OpenLP stands for “Open Source Lyrics Projection” and is presentation software developed for churches to provide a single easy to use interface for the projection needs of a typical worship service.
OpenLP has searchable databases of songs and Bible verses allowing them to be projected instantly or saved in a pre-prepared order of service file. Themes allow for a variety of presentation options and allow you to add attractive visuals to enhance your presentations. PowerPoint and OpenOffice presentations, videos and audio files can be run from within the program removing the need to switch between different programs. Alert messages can be displayed so the nursery or car park stewards can notify the congregation easily.
The following functions are supported:
- Select Address and Port of running OpenLP instance.
- Handle user authentication of updates
- Support SSL
- View all items in a service.
- Change the slide of a live item
- Make an item in a service live.
- Blank the display
- Issue an alert
- Support a graphical main view.
The following functions have not been ported yet:
- Search of item in databases
- Add to service or directly live

On live view, there needs to be a fullscreen mode, to hide the titlebar and the notification bar, as it's taking up way too much of the display. Also, allow for font sizes larger than 20.

I was having trouble connecting to the services much like many others who have posted. I had to change firewall settings to allow OpenLP to communicate. Those who have lost ability to connect should check firewall settings on computer before leaving negative feedback.

After I put in the last digit for the ipaddress am getting a connection error say check network settings also I cant access the search option when I click on it I cant search

Love the new version. There does seem to be an off-by-one bug in the live view. Clicking on the next verse scrolls to the top of the previous one....

Great presentation on a tablet. But needs a next and previous on the Live list page, and needs to keep current service item highlighted and on screen. Till these happen will hace to use the old app as we have lots of service items (all the videos, liturgy readings sermon soon add up) Bur a great work in progress.

I do like sitting with my husband instead of in the sound booth during service. But... am I the only one who does not see the V1 C1 V2... next to each expanded verse on the right side? I have had to insert those numbers into the lyrics so I can choose the correct verse. It used to work before the last upgrade.
