Thank you for making a flashlight app that doesn't ask for my name, number, DoB, social security and credit card info.

Z70%

Finally a flashlight app that doesn't require a lot of unnecessary permissions. Thank u! UPDATE: The camera light does not work with the G3 yet. Hoping for an update,

Was the best simple light app, updated today and it has ruined the app. Uninstalling

H70%
by H####:

Great screen flash light. Does exactly what I need it to. Like that the screen light can be adjusted. Note that using the flash does not work on my phone but the flash can be used as flashlight from the Android UI. Died (crashed on every start) after an update but the bugfix was released before I could even file an issue (within 24 hours).

LED light doesn't work on my ZTE Warp. The screen light is pretty bright but app still needs fixing.

It used to work with the Droid X camera light but this release broke the feature.

Has worked flawlessly and without spyware or ads for years, but camera flash does not light on Galaxy S6. It has its own flashlight, but I'd still like to use this trusted friend. (OK, heavy on the anthropomorphism.)

Q70%

This needs work. I like the apps IO puts out because they do not spy and they do not use ads. But this app will not turn on the led from the camera other ones do turn on the led but they use ads Please fix this

If You're Afraid at the dark. Afraid at the dark? Use OI flashlight and you see and you are not afraid anymore!

Worked perfectly on my old Samsung i9300, but now I cannot use the camera flash feature on my new Nexus 6P :(

Living at the beach I need to worry most about bull sharks, not only can they live in fresh water for years on end, but apparently have started acclimating themselves to living OUT of water all the time as well, and you really need to be on your toes at all times to avoid becoming chum. I would be dead if it had not been for open intents flashlight. Not only do they not screw you with any add on spying programs, they actively try out their programs in every sort of situation, just to make sure it won't hang up or freeze in a crucial time. Like when walking my poor dogs late at night, I can hear the waves crashing on a clear night, what used to be a peaceful moment now could have me frozen like a tuna in headlights. No more worries for me! OI flashlights has given me peace. Inner peace all from an android program this small. What more could I ask for? (Your experience may differ from my own, we are after all our own unique flightless birds that love herring, and as such we each experience life differently from each other)

Thos does not tirn on the LED even when enabled in the settings, It just sits there doing nothing on my Galaxy S5 Please fix

Finally, a flashlight app with common sense requirements. Others require weird permissions (Full Internet Access, GPS). The Camera Flash works; you have to use the Menu key and go to Preferences to enable it.

B70%
by B####:

Free, small, works great, no ads or scary permissions. My only complaint is that it maintains a black band that says "OI Flashlight" at the top of the screen, and it would be nice to have that area lit up, but with most free flashlight apps, that amount of space is going to be taken up with ads anyway.

Q70%

Cannot use the flashlight, only the screen light works.

Can't use the led flash on the back of my phone.

I love the no excess permissions (no ads, no internet, just a simple and lightweight flash). Works great on SGS 3. Had to turn on the LED flash in the settings/preferences menu (should be on by default, or two buttons on the screen, one for LED, and one for screen).

Does not work on stock rom :(

Y70%

Good set of permissions, but camera light doesn't work.

Q70%
by Q####:

This is a shame. I was looking for a flashlight app without unusual permissions, and this seemed like a good option. The screen brightness works, but the flash does not.

Q70%
by Q####:

Works alright with a bright white screen, but no camera flash support on Nexus 5

Q70%
by Q####:

The app does its job and only, and requires no additional permittions. Love it.

Q70%
by Q####:

You should be able to disable using the screen as a flashlight and just use the camera flash to save battery.

E70%
by E####:

It does not ask for permission that it does not need like other flashlight apps. This is the best of all.

H70%

It fails to activate the camera LED on my device, but in default backlight mode it does exactly and only what you expect.

But cannot for the life of me work out how to get the camera flash to work. Enabled the option for it in preferences, to no avail. Backlight part works fine though. Finally found a developer with morals. :-) keep up the good work.

Not everyone dotes on gimmick-laden software. I like an app that does one thing, does it very well, and takes up very little space. I was slightly put off at first at having to download a separate component to change color/intensity of the back light, but it's logical if you think about it: chances are that you'll need the device for a quick temporary light, not for flashy colors and other fluff. If I have one suggestion, it's that the screen backlight have two brightness settings readily at hand, and that the app start at a lower setting. Maybe my backlight is unusually bright, but when I first turn OI Flashlight on in the darkness, I get a burst of white light that's rather dazzling.

Works perfectly on my older Samsung galaxy s blaze, Sony Experia Z and Z1S. Did not work on my note 3. No special unnecessary permissions. Thanks for keeping it simple all around.

Please make it work on Nexus 5. This is a great flashlight app!

C70%

LED doesn't turn on in camera flash mode. It's a shame because it seems to be the only one without unreasonable permission requirements.

C70%
by C####:

Having browsed 10+ other flashlights in the store, it's so satisfying to find a real Open Source version that doesn't require a host of irrelevant permissions. This app requires just the permissions it need to control the camera flash. The other flashlight apps I found all wanted permission to connect to the Internet and to know my location — so they can display adds. The app worked perfectly on my Nexus 4.

C70%
by C####:

Works great on the transformer (no led flash). Other apps want crazy permissions, this one keeps it simple and does its job beautifully.

Much better for my poop phone than the other 7 mb flashlight app I was using. One downside is that when the camera flash is on, the backlight is not automatically maxed out too.
