Incredibly buggy (under Android on Nexus pad and Samsung phone). Page turning slow or non-responsive (almost unbelievable to release such an app with such a fault....). Very limited in-book navigation, and no bookmarking to return to favorite spots. Font and brightness often unresponsive, or also send you back to start of book. No sync across other devices on same account. Book returns often unresponsive.

Very nice app for borrowing & reading books that are readily available. But the app loses stars because I can't download books, I've reserved, one they're ready. What's the point of reserving books of I can't obtain them. PLEASE FIX THIS.

This app is terrible! When it actually let's me open the book the pages are impossible to turn, if I get an alert on my phone while reading it goes back to the beginning of chapter, then when I go into the app after a few hours of being closed the page is blank and I can't get the book back without restarting my phone. Makes me want to go back to borrowing physical books from the library.

Unusable. Nothing I do will make the pages turn, and if I close and restart it, it scrolls backward to the chapter beginning. It doesn't do audiobooks at all. Try again, developers.

I was able to download to my tablet (a Samsung Note 10.1) but could not navigate in the book, so: useless.

Was thrilled to download this app. The first day I used it with no problems. Now day two and I open the books and see signs and symbols.

It doesn't let me read the books on my phone & it won't let mean download the books on my tablet

Overdrive isn't great, but it's better than this. A couple of things that I think could be easily fixed and would increase the usability if this app. Remove network requirements when you launch. This is for the New York Public Library? We all ride the subway. Allow proper fill screen mode. Honor system brightness. One glitch that I've noticed is that sometimes when I resume the app, all I see is random glyphs.

The old version worked on my relatively new nook (2016) This version won't load on it now. Support hasn't been able to help. The nook is android 6.0 but it still doesn't load.

I used to like this app a lot. It's pretty bare bones, but the access to library books was worth it. Since the latest update, though, I can't download any books.

It works fine on my Galaxy s7. Some of the negatives: you cannot set a bookmark; there are only 2 font sizes, one is too big the other too small; does not sync with my other devices. On my Nexus 7 the page is in a narrow newspaper type column form and does not fit the whole screen.

I love that nypl has an app, and was surprised a great selection. However the functionality leaves much to be desired. You can't skip to different parts in the book, page turning is annoying, and for I can't select and highlight words (to copy or use Google translate when reading in my 2nd language). Also wish it was available for Kindle because I don't like reading on my phone..

... But page turns are so laggy! Also while it works on my phone, book downloads fail on my Kindle fire. Finally, it really should come back to where you left off, not to the catalog but to the book you may have had opened. That's the way most readers work.

I applaud the NYPL for attempting to consolidate all available e-books in the catalog from different sources (3m, overdrive, Kindle, adobe, etc) into one app. Unfortunately, the e-book reader still needs quite a bit of work before it can get more stars. There is a lot of lag when you turn pages or jump to different sections of a book. It does not have that flow or instance it has with other e-reader apps. It feels like its still in beta mode. Work on the bugs and improve on it and it will be a great app!

I downloaded this just fine on my phone, but of course, it doesn't work on Kindle. So now I have a book checked out that I can't send to my Kindle Fire, nor can I open it in Overdrive on my Kindle. So I am stuck either returning the book or reading it on my phone. WTF???

Buggy on my Android tablet. Navigation is awful, often spent 5min just finding where I'd left off. Page turns are slow and/or non responsive. Punctuation presented as random symbols.

Overall, a fantastic first release. 1. The responsiveness in a book is a touch slow. 2. I'd like notifications, or emails when my reserved books are available. 3. The screen often times out while I'm reading a page. 4. When I enter the subway and start to read with only marginal reception, the app hangs while loading "my books".

This app just came out, so it's not perfect. I wish that we get notice when books are about to expire and when our reservations are available for download. It would be nice if I can select in settings for the app to notify me that book will expire in one day or in one hour. Many times I reserve a book, and didn't know I can download it and I have to reserve and wait several days again.

I don't understand why this app is incompatible with my Alcatel OT. I have downloaded a variety of apps but this is the first one that's giving me this problem. What's the point of using it if I can only read books on my cellphone where the screen is half the size of my Alcatel OT. Please fix this issue. I am very disappointed.

Not sure why others have had trouble, but I just downloaded, installed, logged in, and started reading Lena Dunham's book under a minute. Really grateful NYPL is doing so much to support ebooks.

No Kindle support, slower than slow, logged me out without asking, wouldn't download, won't work on 2 devices at the same time. You rolled this out too quickly, or I bit too quickly.

Doesn't have all ebooks available from their website. I recommend that you still keep OverDrive installed on your phones. Also there is no advanced search features. Sometimes results appear random.

When I tried several times to log in, message said "an unknown error occured." Bar code and PIN are entered correctly but login can't be completed.

Working fairly well on my Droid Turbo 2 so far. Would like the 3M books to not show up in searches/downloads, because they are not available. Thanks so much!!

Can't log in using same credentials I use on the web, on Overdrive app. Hopefully they will fix.

Worked within seconds. Great all in one reader the saves time and effort from downloading in one program and transferring to another.
