Klaxon Oncall Pager for Android
Was Pretty damn good. Had a number of issues since Android 5.x though. Trying to address them. Alarm levels are not being used post Android 5.
Project seems dead, no website, no instructions.
Use this when I'm oncall to wake me up when things go wrong, regardless of phone settings. Configurable, reliable & small footprint. Easy to set up & couldn't do oncall without this indispensable app. Update: loses stars for broken "use alarm volume" on Lollipop. Please fix ASAP!
Without having to even change my messaging app, I get to be woken up only by texts that have content that needs my immediate attention
Installed on Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android Lollipop. Prevents me from missing work pages which is critical for my job. Simple to set up. Thanks!
just installed and tested it. appears to do exactly what I wanted - to be alerted from text messages from a wild card phone number. thank you for creating the app...
The app doesn't activate every time a page is sent through. Some days it will activate and other times it won't.
Klaxon does not override the loudness settings on my S4. No alarm sounds when device volume is off even with Klaxon "Use alarm volume" set.
You're looking for a way to not miss that important SMS next time? Then why haven't you installed this app?!
Great app for ensuring I notice SMS's.
It's a little wonky with some paging systems, but it's only a minor inconvenience.
Originally, this was 5 stars. Then some upgrade was pushed that took away Klaxon's ability to override my volume on Galaxy S3. Now it is fixed! Awesome! Very useful and thanks so much for fixing it.
I'm having the same issue as S Kyriacou with my Nexus 5. The alarm sound level isn't being used, it's using the default SMS volume. I also have it set to repeat the alert with Klaxon, but I'm quite a deep sleeper and it was nice to have the volume be louder. I'll just have to turn up the SMS volume when I'm on call. This is still a great app though, I've been using it for a year or so and never had any problems. The only exception to this was when work started using MMS instead of SMS for a few months, but this is a known limitation with Klaxon.
Open Source app that does what it claims, without unnecessary permissions, and all around a solid app. My only gripe would be a widget to toggle oncall status, and the UI could use a refresh. Also, a schedule on when to auto go oncall and offcall would be nice.
This app works great. You can change the page tone to whatever you want, and is extremely efficient. However, you can only match 1 substring for the sender. However, I need it to match multiple strings. Rating this 4 stars for now, but will bump up to 5 stars once that feature is done!
I've been able to do away with my pager at work thanks to this application. The only problem I have is that it won't consume SMS on KitKat due to a bug - having only the pages go to this app would make it perfect for my use.
Not showing any errors.. But unable to detect the messages
I love this - so tiny and just does what it says it will do. Only one very minor issue and one feature request; Consume SMS does not seem to work (pages still get delivered to hangouts on 4.4.4) and I would love a widget to display and toggle my on call status.
Even after setup my sms notifications do not change
Finally a text/Pager program that works....I was just about to give up then this one showed up out of the blue.thank you very much!
Vibration mode.. I assume it's supposed to just vibrate but it's not working if the phone is on silent.. it will alarm on silent.. I assume vibrate only works if the phone is not on silent mode.. I need something that would bypass silent mode
After upgrade to lollipop, it seems that the regular SMS app notification sound "overwrites" the first klaxon notification. The workaround is to have repeat notifications (I have them every 20 secs). So you get the second and subsequent klaxon notifications, which is fine with me. ps: I do have "consume the SMS" on but I guess that does not work
On android 4.4 consume sms option doesn't work anymore. Please fix this. Thanks !

I depend on it for work, great app! And it doesn't ask for any unnecessary permissions!
Works fine for one SMS page, however as mentioned by others would be nice to have alerting for multiple SMS accounts.
I needed an app that would work for my Android phone as our paging company does not have adequate service in many areas I travel to. This app fills the need nicely.
Thanks for this enhancement
Does its job.
Best pager app ever.
Everything was fine until beginning of July ... now the pages are going back to SMS :( ...
Let me pitch my pager and use my phone. Works great!
never fails
A pager that wakes me up! Love it!
Not very refined, but is very reliable
Best app for a sound sleeper like me. First pager app that I am really impressed with
Needs a scheduling feature. Otherwise excellent!!
Been using for 4+ years as a pager for hospital. Unfortunately KitKat update introduced a bug that will no longer allow the app to consume earmarked text messages. Bummer! Looking for another option since it can't be fixed.
I am trying to get this to work for emailed SMS message and it will not match. I try different about give different keywords WI success...too bad... This product looked nice

Love it! Keeps going off until I clear the notification. Can't read notification on my Note 5 though. (White on white)
