Serial Reader: Classic Books in Daily Bits

Everything about this app is amazing. I can now read classic books without having to worry about anything. Premium is a very cheap one-time payment, and is in no way necessary or a good experience. There are no ads, usability is perfect, Goodreads sync works flawlessly, there are tons of books and it's all for free!

I love this app. It's helping read books I keep putting off to read other things. The short issue format is a great way to read some of the longer books provided in the app.

A rewarding and stylishly crafted experience. The format is ideal for setting up impromptu "book clubs" with friends or family. My thanks to the creator!

I would like to see more good and great novels such as Hitchhikers guide to Galaxy, catch 22, catcher in the Rye, to kill a mockingbird, Fahrenheit 451. So far, all the Novels are great I absolutely loved this app and the idea behind it. Keep adding more and more :)

Wonderful app and a great idea! I haven't enjoyed reading this much in a long time. I like that the books are arranged into genres and have short descriptions which really helps with choosing what to read next. The design is beautiful too.

I'm stuck with the basic version despite having paid the Premium as the app refuses to update. How could there possibly be a bug this stupid? Please provide for a fix at the earliest.

More suitable for nonfiction. The premium service doesn't make much sense since all the books are in public domain.

Perfect app for avid readers! Daily doses of classic literature to add to your reading lists...after a few days or weeks (or months if you're reading Russian lit) of 10 minute doses, you find you've finished an entire novel!

Perfect app! Simple and attractive interface, bug-free (in my experience) and super easy to use. Makes daily reading so appealing, even for non-readers like myself. Love it!

The app itself works fine, but honestly it's somewhat unnecessary, especially the premium services that allow you to read ahead. Basically, all the books available are in the public domain, meaning that even if you can't afford to buy a (cheap) physical copy and don't have a public library available, you can get them online on multiple sites for free as well as in downloadable ebook formats. This makes the whole idea of paying to read ahead a little ridiculous. I bought the premium option (rather impulsively) and I wish I had just bookmarked the Project Gutenberg page and set an alarm on my phone to remind me to read it. Hope this saves someone else a nominal amount of money and some regret.

I will buy this sometime. So glad I stumbled upon this app, it is beautiful - no glitches or formatting issues in its books, and a much better selection than I expected. Also glad that there are no ads or restrictions on books being read if not a premium member. This app is like a dream haaha. I plan on using it for a long time! Thanks for making it!!

Excellent App. I am reading much more now thanks to this App. Purchasing the premium subscription enables me to read ahead without waiting for the next issue to come on the following day. This us especially useful for me since when I get time, I multiple issues at one stretch

I love this app so much. But I just started reading Les Miserables, and it doesn't load up half the time. Also on the *unread* section it shows what I haven't read, then under that everything starting from chapter one, which is a little odd.

I don't usually write reviews but this app really deserves much more popularity than it currently does enjoy. Its the perfect app for you if you want to take up reading. I guess the sheer volume still not read is the main reason pol give up on reading so soon. This app delivers small portions for daily reading which are very easy to complete, once you get comfortable with it you can take up hard copies. Just one suggestion after a suitable period of consecutive reading days, the reader should be able to increase his portion size.

This App is excellent in theory but the execution is plagued with problems. Highlighting and annotating causes the app to immediately exit the serial to the home page at times. Sometimes, the selected serial refuses to open. Other times, the app refuses to open. I am not sure what the problem is but a fix would be appreciated.

I've had this app for only three days now and I'm thrilled. To start, I've experienced NO glitches AND it syncs perfectly between my Android phone & my iPad tablet! There are so many books that I have felt too lengthy to tackle in my lifetime, yet here they are broken down into manageable pieces to read for 10-15 minutes daily. This can be done commuting, during lunch, waiting for an appointment, etc. Choose a book, read tree first piece & a short piece gets delivered daily at a time you choose. You can choose to save other books for later. You can alter the fonts and background to your comfort. This is all free with no ads! ***Please consider the upgrade to support keeping it as is with no ads. Although I'm one who rarely chooses the premium app just to eliminate ads, this app had none; I choose to upgrade today as i had free time and wanted to read further. This allows me to read the next piece - and as far as i wish in the book - without waiting for tomorrow's delivery. Fabulous app for those who enjoy the classics!

I think it's a great app. It's hard for me to wait for the next issue because I'm impatient, so I wish the issues were slightly larger. I also wish that some stories didn't have quite so many issues. I don't want to spend a year on one story, I want to move on, but again, I'm an impatient person. Overall it's a great app!

One of the best apps I have ever come across. If you love reading, I'm pretty sure you'll find this app pretty impressive. You can read many golden classics for free, as short issues. Kudos to the creators!

I'm finally reading some of the classics I've been meaning to. The chapters are perfectly divided into about bits that are small enough to keep my interest. I have paid for very few apps but I paid for this and I'm pleased. The only thing that's an ongoing irritation is that the current issue doesn't​ always right away.

Love the app, but I dropped a star in my rating due to the fact that sometimes a serial will simply refuse to load the issue list, halting the ability to progress with the book. Seems only to happen with longer stories, as I've never seen it happen when loading novellas.

Used to be a great app and I bought premium, but now it keeps crashing and I cannot continue reading my book. Very disappointing.

It's fabulous. It sends you 6 to 20 minute reading sections a day. You can add as many books as you want , and if you Upgrade to Premium you can save books to read for later. Not for people who don't enjoy , or wish to read classic novels.

Amazing app. I don't have the money now, but someday I WILL buy this. Seriously great idea. Also, you could make it better by allowing individual books to have different times of day for downloading.

I have just started using the app and want to continue to do so for a long time. I recently paid 200 INR to upgrade to the premium version of the app. Even though the amount got deducted from my account, I still dont have access to premium features. Could this be fixed, please?

Look the concept and the app. Only downside is that it isn't syncing between my two devices even though I have paid for the premium features. If this was fixed I would give it 5 stars.

Used to be great, but will no longer load any issues. Just get an endless loading screen. Also means serials can't be deleted or paused, so had to switch off notifications until issue is fixed.

I installed earlier this year and had issues with sync. Decided to give it another try and now it's syncing beautifully with my android phone, iPad and Kindle. Sure the books are in public domain, but premium is worth it to me for the convenience (and badges...I"m a sucker for badges and prizes.)
