DigiHUD Speedometer is a free GPS based digital head up display (HUD) that shows useful speed and distance information for your journey. Ideal if your vehicle speedo has died, you want to verify your vehicle speed or you just want to know your speed when cycling, running, flying, sailing etc.!
The display can be switched between normal viewing and HUD mode which mirrors the display for viewing as a reflection in a vehicle windshield (most useful at night, depending on the device's brightness).
DigiHUD can open as a floating window on top of other apps or your homescreens. Works with external GPS receivers (tested at 10Hz).
Although we strive to make all readings as accurate as possible they are only as accurate as your device's GPS sensor and should only be regarded as approximations.

Using DigiHUD
Lite Mode (speed only) - swipe the speed left or right. Swipe again to return
HUD Mode (mirrored) - swipe the speed up or down. Swipe again to return
Touch the trip counter to cycle through the three counters
Long-pressing on a speed or trip value will reset it
Long-press the speed unit to choose between MPH, KMH and KTS from the popup menu (also in the Main Menu)
When in window mode touch the DigiHUD icon for a menu to switch to the fullscreen app or exit. The window can be re-sized using the corner drag handle.
All values can be reset by long-pressing "PAUSE RESET" (the Odometer reading in the Statistics popup won't reset and counts the total distance since the application was installed or it's data was cleared).
Main Menu
Opened by touching the speed displayed in the center of the screen, the menu allows you to:
Exit DigiHUD
Window/Background Mode: Close and open as a re-sizable floating window
HUD view / Normal view: Switch between HUD (mirrored) and normal displays
Speed Unit: Change between MPH, KMH or KTS
Set Warning Speed/Sound: The speed at which the digit color will change to red. An audible alert can also be enabled here
Brightness: Adjust the screen brightness
Display Color: Choose from 10 customizable colors. Almost every color is available except black
Lock screen rotation: keep the screen in its current rotation even if the device is rotated
Display Preferences: enable/disable screen elements
Statistics: odometer, trip distance, top speed and average speed and version number
Help: show help and other information
*This application requires the use of the GPS receiver, which may increase battery usage.*
The screen will not turn off during long journeys and works in landscape or portrait mode.

This is a great H.U.D. Application. ???? I am extremely happy to see that it is Ad Free and is provided free of cost by the developer. Thank ka for this fantastic application Developer. I truly love this application as it makes it a lot easier to drive at night. No more blinding dash and accessory lights such as the AC panel speedometer tachometer and the radio the only thing you see in my car at night is the flawless heads-up display "HUD" ????????????????????????

When i was going in 80kmph, it was showing 74kmph... Thats huge difference... Also the floating widget is getting struck after 20-30 secs... App design and concept is good, but this issue is stopping me from buying this app....

Very good and extremely informative HUD. Unlike other GPS based speedometer apps, I found this app to have low power consumption. Hats off! As a suggestion. It would be better if all the options like Speed Unit Change, Brightness and HUD Colour are embedded in the Settings Page rather than the Options Menu List. The list is very long and confusing. Anyways I will keep using this App. :-)

I'm now totally dependant on the window mode. I mount my tablet on my dash, and the first thing I do is open up digihud in window mode so it overlays on top of whatever app I'm in. Navi apps like Waze display your current speed as well, but I love how I can resize the window so it's impossible to miss. My current car actually has a really accurate speedometer, but I always feel good seeing it verified in that little window. Thank you so much for developing this app!!

Works great except for the window option. Purchase pro & need to calibrate 3% for accuracy, but that setting doesn't carry over to the window-EDIT-quick response from dev- 5 stars

Great app! Loads of options, sometimes speed goes buggy when first starting app but usually clears up after a minutes of use.

Great. I Use it on a narrow boat. Pls provide option of decimal place in speed e.g. 3.2 mph. Narrowboats don't generally go more than 4mph. Also decimals would be handy for use on a bicycle. ???? Cheers, RossC.

This is good and works like it should but I wish it would work with OBD2 support so you can see the vehicles speed and gps the same time.

I love this app some of the cars I drive the speedometers either out of whack or don't work at all but most importantly I use it for when I test high speed runs in my RC car's my top speed so far in my Rustler is 75 miles an hour getting ready to break that record hopefully today with a slash 4x4

This app keeps flipping backwards from time to time. And GPS-Map keeps turning off, and I have return it on again. And I lose my statlite, and my compass. And have to reset all time. But I like app when it works.

Small tutorial screen to see functions would be nice (swipe gestures etc). Trip distance reset could be better. But ten outa ten and it's free without ads and customizable. You get a pat on the back and a wink ;)
