A potentially extremely useful addon, but sadly, half-baked. The developer says so in the app description: this addon doesn't really provide a sync capability, but just a unidirectional up/download feature. Unfortunately, this isn't what people need or expect, as shown by the other reviews. I'm using the addon out of necessity, however, using it across devices, I must put great care in checking which device uploads and which device downloads... Even within the same device, if I edit a file (without leaving the note and thus before it is saved on the cloud) and then hit Sync, the note won't be uploaded, it will be overwritten with a downloaded copy of the old revision! This is obviously not how it should be.

This cloud upload addon doesn't work on my phone (a Galaxy S4 mini) Simple Notepad still best notepad though. Tip: to upload your backup to the cloud simply hit: Spanner icon > Tools > Backup to SD card. This creates simplenotepad.zip on the device (not the sd card!) Locate that zip file in a file manager app > long tap it > Share > Dropbox. Viola, one cloud backup of your notes.

I would prefer to have an option to view files on Dropbox (not just the apps/simplenotepad directory) and open them if I want, rather than all this auto stuff. Also, your database should keep track of when a file was edited and rather inform me of a different version on Dropbox.

As other reviewers noted, sync will overwrite local copy, regardless if it's newer than dropbox version.

Cool app

Often it won't sync when closed, then next time it opens my changes are overwritten. Only use this if you are planning to only use manual sync.

Sometimes this syncs a dropbox copy over a much newer live version in simple notes. This is very annoying. I just lost a bunch of text. If you cannot fix bug then please at least check if note being overwritten is bigger and offer an option to cancel

Keeps overwriting newer local version with old from dropbox. Same problem on two devices.

Love the simple notepad app, 5 stars. However, when using the upload/download drop box feature simple notepad does not maintain the priority levels or strike throughs. This seems like a simple fix in setting up how the program reads and writes to the text files it is saving. If they fix this, 6 stars.

Moved completed items from one checklist to another and those items will be lost forever as soon as you open the destination checklist. Unacceptable.

Installed this plugin since it came out and still totally satisfied. Actually - can't give even an objective rating any more cause im so used to have my notes/lists/links etc synced and exactly the same in all my devices. Since i also have dropbox installed on all my android devices and PC's including the ones im constantly using at work. At first sync overwriting was a bit confusing and lost some data few times but after figuring out the best saving mode for my needs it's been running perfectly without a notice. 5 for your sync addon and notepad itself of course.

This was exactly what I needed. Works nicely.

I have now spent DAYS looking for an app that will sync .txt via Dropbox. PALM had me spoiled. I thought this one would do it, but no. It is not simple to select whether you overwrite up or down. True 2-way sync, the new file would overwrite the older file. I guess I'll keep looking. Other than that it looks like an ok notepad program.

A faster easier way to export your note(s) to your Dropbox. This is not syncing and I will not give this a bad rating simply because this app does do syncing. This app is an exporting add on. But I hope someday simple notepad will! This would be the holy grail of not and checklist apps!
