تاريخ دمشق لابن عساكر

كتاب تاريخ دمشق وأسمه الكامل "تاريخ مدينة دمشق - حماها الله - وذكر فضلها ، وتسمية من حلٌَها من الأماثل ، أو اجتاز بنواحيها من وارديها وأهلها"
من تأليف الإمام الحافظ محّدث الشام ابن عساكر. وهو كتاب ضخم يقع في حوالي ثمانين مجلّدا. ويعتبر من أكبر وأضخم وأهم المؤلفات في تاريخ الإسلام. تناول فيه المؤلف تاريخ مدينة دمشق، وتكلّم في تراجم الأعيان والرواة ومروياتهم من كل من سكن أو جاور أو مرّ بمدينة دمشق. وترجم لعدد هائل من الأعلام في تاريخ الإسلام منذ ظهوره إلى ما قبل وفاة المؤلف. وهو مصنف على على نسق كتاب تاريخ بغداد والذي ألّفه الخطيب البغدادي.
وقد قالوا: أنه يقصر العمر عن أن يجمع الإنسان فيه مثل هذا الكتاب.
قال ابن خلكان: قال لي شيخنا الحافظ زكي الدين عبد العظيم وقد جرى ذكر هذا التاريخ وطال الحديث في أمره : ( ما أظن هذا الرجل إلا عزم على وضع هذا التاريخ من يوم عقل على نفسه وشرع في الجمع من ذلك الوقت وإلا فالعمر يقصر عن أن يجمع الإنسان مثل هذا الكتاب ).
ولهذا الكتاب قيمة أدبية كبرى - إلى جانب قيمته التاريخية - لعنايته بتراجم الشعراء وذكر أخبارهم وأشعارهم .
وقيل أن المؤلف كاد أن ينصرف عن إنجازه وإتمامه، لولا أن خبر هذا الكتاب تناهى إلى أسماع "نور الدين محمود" ملك دمشق و حلب فبعث إلى الحافظ ابن عساكر يشحذ همته ويقوي من عزيمته، فعاد إلى الكتاب وأتمه سنة (559هـ = 1163)، ثم قام ولده القاسم بتنقيحه وترتيبه في صورته النهائية تحت بصر أبيه وعنايته، حتى إذا فرغ منه سنة 565هـ = 1169 قرأه على أبيه قراءة أخيرة، فكان يضيف شيئا، أو يستدرك أمرًا فاته، أو يصوب خلطًا، أو يحذف ما يراه غير مناسب أو يقدم موضعًا أو يؤخر مسألة، حتى أصبح على الصورة التي نراها الآن بين أيدينا تحفة الكتب في تاريخ المدن .
وللكتاب أذيال ومختصرات كثيرة من أهمها كتاب "مختصر تاريخ دمشق" لإبن منظور. History of Damascus and the full name "the history of the city of Damascus - protected by God - and said its virtues, and the designation of solved Alomathl, or passed Bnuahaha of Ardaha and its people."
Written by Imam Hafiz updated Sham Sakba. It is a huge book is about eighty volumes. And it is one of the largest and the largest and most important books in the history of Islam. It dealt with the author's history of the city of Damascus, and spoke in the Senate and the biographies of narrators and Mroyatem from each of the housing or Gower or over the city of Damascus. And translated to a huge number of flags in the history of Islam since it emerged from before the author's death. It is classified as a book on the history of Baghdad and written by al-Khatib al-Baghdadi format.
Has said, it's short life for that man which collects such a book.
Ibn Khalkan said: He told me Shaykh Hafiz Zaki Din Abdel Azim has been mentioned this history and a long talk in his order: (I think this guy, but the determination to put this date on the mind of himself and embarked on a combination of the time and only Age is short of that combines Rights such as this book).
But this book is a major literary value - along with historical value - for the attention of poets biographies and said their news and poetry.
And was told that the author came close to going out for accomplished and complete, except that the news of this book overhearing the ears, "Noureddine Mahmoud," the king of Damascus and Aleppo, he sent to the Keeper Sakba sharpens ambition and strengthens his resolve, he returned to the book and completed by the year (559 AH = 1163), then he and his son Qasim revised and arranged in its final form before the eyes of his father and his care, even if you finished it the year 565 AH = 1169 read to his father's final reading, was add something, or bridge is death, or pointing a combination thereof, or deletes it deems inappropriate or offers subject or delay the matter, until it became the image that we see now in our hands a masterpiece of books in the history of cities.
