佛學小故事 (L074 中華印經協會．台灣生命電視台)

癌症

　　我（海濤法師）會對佛法生起信心、甚至出家學習，都是由於我母親罹患癌症的因緣。我的母親年輕時喜歡養雞、殺雞，而我小時候則常受貧血的困擾，這是為什麼呢？ 因為小時候每當我母親在殺雞時，就會叫我拿一碗米來裝血，然後煮雞血糕給我吃；所以一直到大學以前，每次蹲著站起來就會頭昏眼花，以前我還以為自己得了什麼病，學佛後才知道其實就是這一段因果關係。

　　後來，母親因為膽癌必須開刀，當我在醫院照顧她時，才深深地感覺到人生真苦！ 我從來不知道醫院是這麼讓人感到痛苦又窒息的地方；媽媽在受病苦折磨、疼痛的時候，我在一旁根本束手無策。那時候我很喜歡讀誦《地藏菩薩本願經》，為了減輕母親的痛苦，於是我就跪在地上，虔誠地發願出家，並願以出家功德迴向母親，願她病障消除、趕快康復起來。隔天，醫生告知我們說依母親的情況應該開刀，但我母親非常愛漂亮，怎麼勸說就是不願開刀也不願化療，只是吵著說要回家；說服不了母親的堅持，我的大哥、父親也只好答應先送母親回家休養。

　　但奇蹟發生了！ 當到了第三天時，我母親竟然不再感覺疼痛；她再到別家醫院檢查， 醫生卻跟她說只是發炎而已， 別浪費勞（健）保單，不用看了！

　　從醫院回來後她就拉著我說：「阿享（法師俗名），你若有發願就要去做。」其實在我決定吃素的時候，並不是因為什麼教條的關係才決定素食，而是因為我的母親身體不好，所以我才發願吃素並將功德迴向給她。由於佛法的力量，以前她連走樓梯都沒有力氣，但現在上下樓梯、外出買菜都不成問題。母親知道我為她發願，所以吩咐我一定要依願實行。當她問我發了什麼願時，我回說：「出家。」她一聽眼淚就流了下來，不敢反對也不贊成，畢竟當時我已有家庭、小孩及事業。

　　由於母親生病的因緣，讓我感受到佛法的體證；到現在都已經十幾、二十年了，我母親依然健康地活著。

　　永不退轉！ 這就是我的信心。所以各位！ 持戒非常重要！ 不用去管別人如何，自己做好並迴向給他人才是最重要。 Listen Haitao Master said some Buddhist stories, try to put down your opposition and persistence, so that "love" to appease the fear, anger and greed, not let worry and negative emotions occupy your mind. Cancer

I (Haitao Master) will Dharma students from the faith, and even a monk studying, my mother suffering from cancer are due to karma. My mother was young like chicken, chickens, and I was a child is often plagued by anemia, which is why? Whenever my mother as a child at the time of the slaughter of chickens, they will call me to get a bowl of rice to install blood, blood pudding and poached chicken for me to eat; it has been to college before, each will stand up squatting dizziness, Before I thought I got sick, this is actually a Buddhist after that period of causality.

Later, the mother because the gallbladder cancer have surgery, when I was taking care of her in the hospital, it is deeply felt life really hard! I never knew so many people feel the hospital is painful and suffocating place; my mother when tortured by the agony, the pain, I do not do anything aside. At that time I liked recite "Jizo by the willing", in order to alleviate the pain of the mother, so I knelt down and reverently vow to become a monk, and is willing to become a monk merit back to his mother, she would like to eliminate the disease barrier, quickly recovered stand up. The next day, the doctor told us that according to the mother's situation should be surgery, but my mother loved beautiful, how to persuade reluctant surgery is also reluctant to chemotherapy, arguing that just want to go home; convince his mother's insistence, my brother, father had promised to send her mother home recuperating.

But a miracle happened! When the third day, I actually do not feel pain the mother; she then another hospital examination, the doctor told her that only inflamed it, do not waste workers (health) insurance policy, do not read!

She came back from the hospital took me said: "A share (Master common name), you should do if vow" In fact, when I decided to vegetarian, not because of what the dogma of the relationship before deciding vegetarian, but because my mother in poor health, so I was a vegetarian and merit vow to give her back. Because of the power of the Dharma, the stairs before she even have no strength, but now and down the stairs, go grocery shopping is not a problem. Mother knew I vow to her, so I have to carry out orders so wish. When she asked me what time willing, I replied: "monk." She tears streaming down one, not against it are opposed, after all that time, I have family, children and career.

As the mother of illness karma, I feel the Dharma body card; up to now have been more than ten or twenty years, and my mother is still alive and healthy.

Never turn back! This is my faith. So you! Precepts are very important! Others do not have to manage how to prepare themselves and return to his talent is the most important.
