LDS Music

The Android version of this app is very buggy as of the last few months regarding the search function of you're searching with the sheet music option on. It almost always opens up the wrong song in that case. To make this app usable, you have to search with the words only option. My wife has the iphone version, and it's search function works perfectly fine.

The iPhone version of the app works great, keeps all the songs readily available (at least it did a year ago before I switched to an Android phone). The Android version of the app doesn't keep any songs readily available, has to download the song every time. Don't waste your time with the Android version.

I love having easy access to church music in both sheet music and audio format. The one problem I have is that, unlike the LDS Gospel app, LDS Music doesn't prevent screen darkening, so I need to keep tapping the screen to keep the music visible. This means I can't use a tablet at the piano or while leading music in church, and is inconvenient while singing. Is there a way to get this functionality?

The old version worked pretty well now the hymn numbers don't correspond with what comes up when you select it. I will try deleting and re installing it and see if that fixes. It took me most of the song to find and pull it up today.

There are a few issues that need sorting out. Sometimes I search a song and download it, but then it opens a completely different song. Then the music player covers part of the sheet music so singing along with the music is impossible if you don't have it memorized - at least the last line or two.

It is extremely slow and requires internet access to give you the hymn page and not just the words. The one on my old tablet is better, but no longer available. I end up going back to that one because this one is so unreliable/unavailable.

11/2017 updating review. It looks like the search has been fixed. Thank you. Frustrating. Cannot use the hymn search, whether I'm using the hymn number or searching by title. I should have read the other reviews before installing. Now searching for a different app that actually works.

This used to be the main app that I would use for the hymns, lately the hymns I click on aren't the ones that pop up on my screen. Last time I tried to use it some of the hymns only had the lines where the notes should been. No words or notes, just lines. Hopefully this gets fixed. It was a great app before. :(

I this last update has really messed up the appand makes it virtually unusable.. It is showing multiple hymns on one page and the numbering is all messed up. For example, I try to open hymn #35 and it displays #43 or I try to open #232 and it displays #277. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Please correct this issue. I will change from2 stars once it is working properly.

The recent update now follows the actual hymn book. It is really hard to find the right hymn being sung when you click on the hymn and it goes to a completely different hymn. For example, when you click on hymn 134, I Believe in Christ, it takes you to hymn 158. Can we revert back to the older version that has each hymn on its corresponding"page" in the app?

This was a terrific app but the latest update has left it unusable. Whether you try to select a hymn by its number or title the wrong hymn opens and you can't even flick to the correct hymn because it skips half of them. Very disappointing. Please fix this bug.

Update: the update has screwed up the pagination. Useless now. Also, the music takes far too long to load and requires some sort of connection to operate (WiFi or data). The app still has all kinds of wonderful features (that I don't use), and I like the ability to have the app play the accompaniment, however, I usually only need this for Sacrament meeting when we don't have sufficient hymnals (yes, I am a fold-up chair dweller). This app still doesn't allow you to download the sheet music to save time and allow access when you have a bad wifi or data connection. Not as good as other available nonofficial LDS music apps.

Doesn't load quick enough to be useful. Hymns are halfway over before I can get to them in this app. Search function is also buggy and yields incorrect results. Ordering of hymns is non-intuitive. No night mode. I'm thankful for the app because of its contents, but I wish it was easier to work with.

I concur with most everything that has been said about this app. For whatever reason you took a decent app and hired someone to redo it and pretty much all of the changes made the app worse. You can no longer have the catalog saved on your phone, so you need to download each song ever time you open it, which takes too long. You can no longer do full screen viewing. Why was this change necessary? Please fix.

What's going on?? I use this app all the time but suddenly it started messing up and now when I click a certain hymn, it shows a different one and there are sometimes two hymns on a page! Please correct, this is one of my favorite apps!

The latest update is really messed up. Page breaks are really iffy and finding a hymn by page number is next to impossible. I used it regularly, before, but I've had to go to a different app, altogether.

This app has very poor offline functionality. The sheet music has to be re-downloaded every time you open the app and it takes a long time. We are already typically singing the second or third verse before the app finally loads the music.

Android version used to be more stable. It seems like I need to download new content each week and now I can't seem to view music. It's kind of frustrating for seemingly static content that shouldnt change all that much...

Great except that the headings don't correspond to the music. Some songs are doubled up and it messes up the counting system. This makes it very difficult to find the song I want.

Frequent updates that screw things up. Too many problems for such a simple, simple app. Most recent app mismatched numbers to the actual hymns AGAIN. Uninstalled and reinstalled according to instruction and still mismatched. NOPE!

The correct hymn now comes up, but you better have internet access or you will only get words. I've switched back to the app that I used to use. It hasn't been updated in two years, but it has the features I want (like offline music!).

Broken. How can the developers release this in such a buggy state. Just fix the problems others have described, or apologise, or withdraw it. DON'T IGNORE YOUR USERS.

Every time I try to give this app another chance, it takes over 3 minutes to download a single hymn, which I still cannot view. It's useless, or I'm doing something very wrong. Either way, it should not be that hard

Agree with the previous comment. It should be a single download for all songs and individually as that necessitates an Internet connection. Going backwards in my opinion. I need it to be complete offline as the church WiFi is over taxed. Otherwise great app.

It's good but sloww and if I need it immediately then it sucks but right now they need to fix a bug that makes the song not match up with the number. So say you picked hymn 98 you get 117. It's off enough that it needs to get fixed soon

Last update broke the indexing (142 brings up 169). You now can't look up hymns in a timely fashion making this app pretty useless

I enjoy the searching feature, where it is like the search topics in the hymn book. Also seeing the aheet music, words, or just listening to the music is nice. I just wish the app wouldn't have to download every song each time you use it. More than 2/3 of the time I never get to use the app in priesthood meeting since I don't know the hymn that will be song until just before singing it. Also where the WiFi is extremely bogged down during church, it is near impossible to have the song downloaded before it is already over. It would be nice if the songs were all downloaded when the app is downloaded and installed, or at least give the option to the user so they can choose if space is an issue.

I like the app but the hymn numbers are way off. It looks like they are just scans of the hymnbook, making search impossible. The iOS version does not have this problem.

Current Android version is buggy when you display sheet music where it shows the wrong song. It also does not cache songs. Until this is fixed i cannot recommend this app.

I would love this app if I actually did the one thing it was supposed to do: allow me to access songs by their title or number. Yes the functionality exists, but is completely broken by the correct sheet music not showing up when the hymn is selected.

When I search for a hymn number, I get the correct title, but the actual hymn that shows up, is way off. For example, searched for 232, but the actual hymn that showed up, was hymn 276. I figured this would be fixed relatively quickly. But it has been going on for 3+ months now.

If you can find the hymn you are looking for, it works fine. The problem is that the numbers in the TOC do not match up with the pages and they get further misaligned the higher the number.

This app is unusable. Which is mind-boggling. All it needs to be is a repository of PDF pages. But the page numbers are all wrong. If you select 250, it shows you pages 304 and 305. At least they finally changed it so that you don't always need internet access just to open a file. But this is ridiculous.

As others have mentioned, it no longer displays the correct hymn number. Aside from that, slow UI and long loading times means it's faster to just grab the physical book.

It totally destroys the functionality of this app that you can't download and have all the songs at once. Waiting for them to load one at a time means missing most of the song anyway.

Come on guys. You can do better. It takes the entire duration of a song to get the stupid thing to load the music. It's basically unusable.

Current version is THE WORST app I have ever used. All the other users have identified the problems. Pretty sure all the positive reviews are from earlier versions when the app actually worked.

The constant downloading and updating is driving my crazy. I live in China, so the all can only download or update when I am on a VPN. I downloaded all the hymns, but they still don't load half the time because the app wants to connect to the internet all the time. Can this please be more simple? So that when I download something I can access it whenever?

I had to uninstall the app, reinstall it, and say no to any updates. So far so good. Before, with the updated version, it wouldn't take me to the correct hymn.

When you need a song quickly and type in the hymn number I get a hymn 30 plus away. Very annoying.
