KQED Listen Live for Android
Constantly stops and buffers. As much as I love KQED, I hate this app.
Lengthy pauses for "buffering" occur every few minutes, and does not resume where it stopped. Very disruptive. My phone has an FM radio so I keep this app only for use when out of radio range.
Buffers, then nothing.
I can't imagine not having it.
No longer works
Am DLing now on SSG S4. HUGE file at just UNDER 7megs!! Can't this be made to be smaller? thank you - yes, I am a sustaining member
The streaming functionality is broken. Don't bother wasting your time installing this app. If you must, use the browser based streaming instead. Doing this however will eat through your battery life pretty quickly...
So. When I first installed this, I had no problem. It was glorious. I was able to listen to CA Report podcast, which is why I downloaded it. Opened it today and nada! It doesn't play. Nothing. I'm rather disappointed. :/
It crashes when I open it , on the second time it doesn't. When a call , or map notification streams it rebuffed for about 30 seconds
It's timely news, clearly broadcast
Garbage app. Crashes. Also, major permission creep over old versions. App update acquires new unnecessary permissions. Possible big data spyware. EXPLAIN YOUR NEED/USE OF PERMISSIONS!!! Also, publish your RTSP address URL on the website so we can just access the stream without an extra app.
Crashes at least once every 10 minutes. Seems to work on relaunch, but come on guys, how many years does it take to make a simple featureless (as this is) streaming app.
Love the app except for the crashes. Update: it's started randomly crashing while running now :-(
Used to crash a lot but seems ok lately. PLEASE add a "sleep" option (play for 30/60/90 min then turn off).
Unfortunately, KQED has stopped. Unfortunately, KQED has stopped. Unfortunately, KQED has stopped. Unfortunately, KQED has stopped.
Every time the app is interrupted by a direction from maps, a notification, etc. it rebuffers. About a 20-30 second delay causing me to miss what's been said. I have several radio and music streaming apps that don't do this. There must be a way for you to fix it. Please do.
I thought the interruption-free CommuteCast would be worth trying. But, midway through I received a text message and after that notification played, the cast started over at the beginning. There is no fast forward. So I gave up trying to hear the rest and won't be back for another try until the app gets an update.
Crashes every other launch. Also, since about a month ago: automatically stops playing after 20 minutes.
I love having the ability to listen to my favorite radio station from almost anywhere. Works well when you have a stable internet connection. At times the app will stop streaming for no apparent reason and it is a minor inconvenience to restart it. A sleep timer would be a nice addition.
Great content but podcast playback is incredibly inconsistent, and stalls more often than not
I can't imagine not having it.
Major permission creep. App update acquires new unnecessary permissions. Possible big data spyware.
Only thing I would like is to not hear intro commercial each time I get a new wifi/cell connection.
Why does a radio app need to access your files? History? Location, microphone , etc.
Requires too many permissions
Feed constantly reloads. Unlistenable
After installing, I get a message that the required content cannot be obtained from the network at this time. "Try again later..."
I listen on a Bluetooth device in my motorcycle helmet. I wear NRR33 earplugs because of the wind noise at freeway speeds, then I turn up the BT device as high as it goes, also the volume on my phone. Other sound apps let me turn my phone up to some level (maybe 80%) then warn me about hearing damage if I play it too loud. When I say OK they go the rest of the way up. This app stops at 80% and never asks, so I can barely hear it through my earplugs. Please let me choose that safety override setting!

Plays fine until the phone goes to sleep/locks. Then it stops.
App does not work. It opens, shows the name of the program that's currently on, but hitting play to stream the audio results in an infinite wait with a pinwheel of death. Same behavior exhibited on three different Android devices.
Worked on my older android but won't connect on my new LG 3, nor my husband's upgraded Motorola. What's up with that? Capradio has a way better app!
So happy to edit my review and change it to a glowing one! Love KQED, and so happy that this app works on my Galaxy S5!!!
Can't close Android app; have to force stop or uninstall
The latest update fixed the streaming for me! Thank you!
Thanks for the update. Live streaming seems to be in sync. HOWEVER, the app now seems to arbitrarily stop after X minutes of streaming.
Used to work. Now stops streaming after only a few minutes saying it can't get necessary information from the network despite strong signal. Uninstalled, reinstalled to no avail. Please fix error as this is my main way to listen to KQED.
Radio
Does not connect despite numerous reinstalls. Pictures do not show up radio stream feed does not play nothing works on this app.

I love listening to KQED, but I don't know how it's possible to make such a poor streaming audio app these days. It constantly drops the stream and buffering takes forever.
