About Peripheral Vision

Take photos around you. They are saved with the camera orientation (rotation matrix).
Watch previously taken photos turning the screen left-right and up-down.

The idea is to see what we can get using only the sensors of the phone (compass and accelerometer). This does not export wide jpegs ready for printing because quality is not good enough for that anyway.

Experimental: upload panoramas on the web (see demo on Website). Source code available (link also on Website).

A good spec phone is better.

Refs/links (stitch and match moving):
Photosynth, Panotools, Keriven

What's Changed
Two changes that should fix some crash on some phones:
- picture snapshot now done in a background thread (to avoids timeout/freezing on the main user interface thread)
- catch out-of-memory exception when taking to many photos (avoids crashing on phones with low VM memory budget)

Nice try, but does not work on MT4G. Uninstalled.

C70%

Without option to print long jpegs it's slightly pointless

T70%

Not exactly as good as photosynth but okay.

T70%

Took a couple of images, then forced closed, and all camera apps then force closed until reboot

Keep fc after few pics. Tmobile g2.

T70%
by T####:

Laggy. Impossible to line up shots. LG optimist one.

J70%
by J####:

Waste of time.

T70%
by T####:

Positioning is jumpy and laggy. It's impossible to line anything up properly because of it. Makes the app useless. X10 2.1

Z70%
by Z####:

Kept overlapping walls incorrectly: as if it loaded the orientation of my first photo for all photos. Cool idea though.

N70%
by N####:

Get message, out of memory. To big picture size. Have a lot of memory left.

T70%
by T####:

I've been looking for an app like this since I made the switch over to Android. Haven't experienced a crash yet, but am eager to follow this app's progress. Good work, keep going!

T70%
by T####:

Lol its funny how ive never had a problem with any app on the market (sony bitches XD) anyway please fix how it merges pics together use photosynth as an example

T70%
by T####:

It is very jittery and does not line up any shot, It looks like maybe one day this may be the answer to photosynth, but by that time MS will probably have it out for android.

T70%
by T####:

Compact app. But, made one picture and crashed my phone. Samsung galaxy s 4g. Keep up the interesting work

T70%
by T####:

Interesting idea, but it has no option to save photos. Sometimes it saves automatically, but not usually.

T70%
by T####:

it would be cool to have a sphere panorama app on android, and this seems to be the best so far, so keep up the good work!

T70%
by T####:

Amazing app, so much potential. A little more work and this could be perfect

R70%
by R####:

by G####:

Very good start and a great idea, but as the description says, it needs a lot of work. Could be very awesome someday.

T70%
by T####:

This totally fails to deliver but that said I hope the development continues so we get something as polished as photosynth so don't give up

M70%
by M####:
