Tasker Process Running (KC) for Android
Fills missing essential option in Tasker.
If you say it stops somthing make sure it does
Does nothing at all under Nougat
See title.
It does what it says more or less but still not what I need. Tasker has the issue to label apps running in background as "Not Running" and hence as soon as you switch the App a Profile using that App will stop running. This one does the trick, eg. sees App running in background. Issue is however it also sees App as running when user closed it but it's still in recent Apps.
Perfect! It's exactly what I was looking for (made task for "car mode" to pause music (if playing), read incoming SMS out loud, then resume music). Not sure why the low ratings, works great.
Not used tasker in over a year and 3ven then I'm a novice. Create a task and add 1. kc tasker > add app from installed or running press your back button and look to the bottom for variable and add a variable name example %poweramp 2. Create a flash add text "running" then in the if section %poweramp ~ true 3. Create a flash add text "disabled" then in the if section %poweramp ~ false - test task with application running then force close the app and try again.
I bought Pro version to program my Google Nexus 6 so it automatically disables (costly) DATA Connections when I come near and connect to known Wi-Fi networks (at home, at work, etc.. ). Apparently I need to root my phone and install a Security patch to achieve this. Will look for other uses for this app.
Works just as it says, and is a godsend.. Spent so much time figuring out how to check if an app was on or not... This makes short work of that!
I can't understand negative reviews. .. they probably don't know how to use it... works just great
2nd try. Working perfectly, when starting from PROFILES in Tasker.
I am a computer programmer and i cant get it working on Android Marshmallow. I pick an app, then after its selected it complains you have to choose an app and var! Wait nevermind i found it, wasnt very intuitive at first, when i went to select the app it blocked out the view of the other options, and pressing done just exited without showing them. Had to press the back button first to get it to work because Android keyboard gets in the way very annoying at first
You can nit-pick all you want but this plugin works and hadn't caused me any problems. Thanks for a great plugin!
This is not an app, its just a spoof that redirects me to the paid version of the app in play store.
Not really a good evaluation. ...will keep on trying...
Sorry but doesn't work.
Not reliable
Great help.
Thank
It works perfectly, why any ratings less than 5 stars?
Followed the example. %apprunning does not get a value when the app I specify is running.
INSTRUCTIONS: Install this after installing tasker. Open tasker, create profile, select "state," then "plugins," then "KC tasker processes." Then you can click the pencil and configure it. You can also use it as a task action for more complex applications. It worked perfectly the first time I tried it and continues to work without a hitch. I am on Blisspop (Android 5.1.1).
If this worked I would be very happy and give it 5 stars but it does not. I have it in a task to check if a process is running but it never changes the output variable regardless of if it is running or not.
It works perfectly, why any ratings less than 5 stars?
Some one add a video on how to use this
This doesn't detect my currently running apps. It only detects this app itself.
Good idea ! BUT Needs some work, app crashes frequently on GT-9515 with kitkat, and I did not succeed in making it work, the wait time setting of minimum 10 seconds seems a bit awkward. waiting to see it fixed and grant the 5 star the developer deserves.
This app does exactly what it's suppose to, check if a Tasker process is running.
An easy way to check if an app is running without having to mess around with shell commands etc. VERY well done and thanks for a perfect and much needed Tasker plugin..
Even though there seems to be an UI bug or two, this app is so helpful, so easy to use, and so reliable that I must still give it 5 stars. The bugs are easily overcome by merely using the phone's back button rather than the app's back button. No problem at all! Thanks, Developer!
Not sure why, but I can't close the configuration screen to get back to Tasker, so I can't create a Tasker task for this. Yes, I set up an app and a variable. Even the "X" option to close the configuration didn't do anything. I finally figured out that you have to click the checkmark, then use the Android "back" button (the Tasker "back" button doesn't work like with every other case). Even then the result returned shows true even after I have closed the app. I think what you really need to show is the value of /proc//oom_adj in the variable.
I'm getting constant crashes while checking if facebook messenger is running. I do not know why though. Nexus 5. Android 5.0.1
Tasker lacks the ability to detect background processes, this is the solution! A minor hiccup, Tasker Process Running stops in background after RAM got too overloaded. It would be great if there is an option to keep the app alive background forever.
Doesn't work right
Great Tasker plug-in. I use this to see if it's ok to turn-off my GPS once apps like Waze are closed, and it works really well.
Moved from a Galaxy Note 3 to a LG G3. Now the plugin keeps force closing. Any reason why?
See title.
There are no ads in this app, its only a Tasker plugin. Using this might kill your battery and cause it to heat up more often, but this can be managed by increasing the test interval and having it check for running processes only when the display is on. Android manages processes by itself, so I found this app quite useless.
As others have reported, it is missing the foreground /background option. Therefore useless for now.
