I bought this app specifically so I could use it with the Kanji Leaner's Course but even though the entry numbers are provided this app won't let me search to get to the kanji. Instead I have to use browse and scroll to the entry even though I have exact number. This is tedious and time wasting. I should be able to search with the exact entry number not have to browse and scroll!

I have had the physical book with me for a decade. The app works very well and have convenient features such as bookmarks. I definitely recommend it over the book. For more reviews on the content check the many reviews for the physical book on Amazon. Must buy for Kanji learners. edit: I rated the physical book 5/5, I rated the app on 5/5 on release date, after the recent updates I wish I could give it more praise but 5/5 is already the full mark.

The app is back. It has certainly had its growing pains, but now that the major QA issues have been resolved, it is once again the best kanji dictionary available for tablet or smartphone.

It is an outstanding application. It didn't work for a while on my phone, but the latest update seems to have solved that for me. Keep up the good work!

Works great again after the update has fixed the issues with the latest WebView. Thanks!

After recent update, having difficulty selecting enlarged kanji after tapping kanji on the kanji definitions page. App will only display white block. Additionally on the help tab page, if the mail/envelope icon is selected, the corresponding send mail window overfills screen so no help text can be sent. On the other hand, animated kanji diagrams, can still be selected.

Just like the book but with a search feature and larger text. Highly recommended as it does exactly what it is meant to do and with ease.

Dear app makers, I am experiencing difficulty in redownloading the app after accidentally losing it. It is a really good app, and I would still rate 10/5 stars for it, but I hope you will consider my issue and resolve the problem to the best you can. Thanks.

Just like the physical book except much easier to carry around. One of the most expensive apps I've purchased and I am very satisfied with it.

I saw your highlight written that "animated stroke order diagrams for all 2,136 Jōyō entry characters" but it doesn't appear on my screen. PLS help me ASAP!!! THKS.

Exactly the same as the physical book, with stroke animations. Couldn've asked for more!!!!!! Would really appreciate it more if it had pronunciation.

The only problem I have with it so far, is when you tap the radical it only tells you the radical number not the name of the radical. Telling me this is radical number 7 doesn't help me very much. Especially since I can already read that in the entry.

It is very easy to search through and just browse. The stroke order diagrams are especially useful. The only complaint I have is how difficult it is to find all of the jukugo for a single kanji. Searching for 欧 doesn't show words where 欧 is not at the beginning, like 中欧. I realize now that in most common instances, all of the compounds are listed in all of the kanji that it contains, but in this case, I only find 中欧 in the listing for 中.

I have the KKLD book at home and I used it extensively in past, so I am really happy to be able to use it on my phone (these days I almost exclusively use my phone as a dictionary, classic books are just too inconvenient to carry around).

This well organized and functional app is a convenient way to carry and use the best kanji learner's dictionary on the market. Highly recommended. The updated KKLD is simply the best. The attention to functionality both in dictionary structure and in choice of content such as example compounds, unusual readings, and reminders about easily confused characters is simply the best I've ever encountered.  The passion and hard work of Jack Halpern and everyone on his team are evident in every aspect.

Crash on search using romaji or kana. Doesn't work on this Nexus 5 as it now stands.

I have the older edition of the paperback and it is one of the best dictionaries I have used. Now that it is electronic, it easily replaces my electronic dictionary for kanji characters. Very good product; highly recommended.
