Notification Plus

Notification Plus Free App

Rated 3.02/5 (45) —  Free Android application by Jeff Moyer

About Notification Plus

Notification Plus delivers recurring notifications via the phone's vibrator or notification ringtone. This is especially useful for phones which lack a notification LED, such as the Nexus S and Galaxy S variants.

Because there is no way for the application to receive all notifications in a uniform way, only certain events will trigger the recurring notification. Those events include:
- SMS messages
- GMail messages
- Missed calls

This application is free software, licensed under the GNU GPL v3. The source code can be found on the project home page: http://code.google.com/p/notification-plus/

The Notification Plus icon comes from the Oxygen KDE 4 theme, found here: http://people.freedesktop.org/~jimmac/icons/#oxygen

I was forever missing texts and emails, and this has solved that problem really nicely. :) Two problems though: 1. (minor nit) The notification item should only show when it's actually been activated, and should be dismissable same as any other notification. 2. The vibrate feature should be disabled when the phone is on silent (as opposed to vibrate mode)! Buzzing in your pocket at the cinema might be ok, but all on a night-stand it's really annoying!

Can't hide notification icon, lacks flexibility. NoLED is much better! Nexus S

Used to work like a dream. Noticed over past few weeks/phone updates that this app is hit and miss. Sometimes it will notify, more often not. Droidx

Great app, simple and up to the mark. But status bar icon is kind of unnecessary.

N70%

Gave it a 2 cause I don't know, goes nothing for my EVO.

I love the concept. When I installed to test (set to 1 minute intervals) , it continued to notify (ring and vibrate) with no apparent way to stop it (it notified continuously) When I cleared the notifications and voicemail, it started notifying again. I had to force close it. I would like to know how it is supposed to work. I'm giving 3 stars because it does notify again, which I want. Would be 5 star plus if it followed it protocol.

Looks like lots of updates since the Feb release - includes ability to select notifications by type. How do we get most recent updates? Would like to have for multiple mail accounts and VM!

Option to control visibility if the notification icon is a must. A notification that I'm looking for notifications is redundant.

I'm looking for a good notification app but this isn't there yet. It only does my regular e-mail. It didn't work for G-mail or text messages. I didn't try voicemail yet. Would like to see this app have more time choices, and also work for the calendar. I do like that it uses your ring tones! I wouldn't mind paying for this app if it worked more efficiently and was more flexable!

Simple and effective. Provides a very useful missing feature. Would like to disable the notification icon and entry - it adds no value. Desire 2.2
