Loop - Habit Tracker for Android
Feature Suggestion - As a user I would like to go into my history and edit/update days. Perhaps as simple as allowing the tap/hold toggle in history view. I forgot to log a day last week and can't figure how to update it retrospectively. All in all, great app. Has helped me develop as a human, creating new good habits, and breaking down old and not so good habits ????
I've always wanted to make this style of habit tracking with a journal, but it just took too much time. This app does the job plus more. I love how it tracks things and puts it into helpful graphs. I honestly look forward to checking things off. It's so satisfying and I feel so accomplished every time! Thank you for just a simple, but effective app.
I love this app because of it's simplicity. I would however love to have a timer available for some of my habits. Maybe we can get this feature? It would be neat to have this option. I was also wondering if it would be possible to have cross/check marks visible only for the chosen days? Anyways, thank you Xavier for this beautiful app and very useful widgets!
It's a good app overall. Very practical and useful. I am still missing something... Maybe an option to add notes? It's a very good way to keep track of how much time you spend doing that particular habit and maybe even add some other info/comment etc. Thanks for the app and if you could add that option it would be perfect!
This app is really good for making checklists and provides you all kinds of controls to view more details of your habits and activities in a well designed visual manner. I would have liked to havea visual aid to compare how often I did the required activities in a given week but I can manage without it. Considering all the other functionalities and controls this app gives you, I can ignore that requirement.
Really simple, easy to use. Widgets are great, makes the whole thing more fun and easier to keep track..I really like the different colours choices as well..this app is perfect for me! I can fix random days for my tasks and even if I do them another day it keeps tracks on the stats..widgets are a great way to keep motivated: they're right there and you want to colour them and take off the little cross! Impossible to miss it! Really great job, hope you keep it as clear and simple as it is!
Has been helpful so far! I really wish that you could make some habits sticky and others not sticky - as far as I can tell, you cannot at the time of this review. Stuff that you can do at any time, like working out, is great to keep sticky so that you're motivated to do it to get rid of the notification, but having a "Did you wake up before 7am today?" notification that you can't swipe away when you didn't complete the task is mildly annoying. I've been toggling off sticky notifications to swipe time-sensitive habits away and then toggling sticky back on. Still 5 stars imo.
Xavier thank you for this app. It is helping me. Also thank you for not adding adds, really generous. And thank you for the open source. I wish you all the best in the next projects. Edit suggestions: 1.You should think about adding tasks that are not daily basis. In my case I have training every other day, it would be cool not to have CHECK MARK the day that habbit is not on my daily plan. 2. Review every last day of the month reminding you what is not going well, if you skipped too much of some habbit. ***edit 2: Thank you for the reply. Not sure how I missed that option. Great!
I love the simplicity of the app and the handy widgets. There is something missing though. Often people work on their habits for specific reasons. Eg a habit of eating well for losing weight, a habit of lifting heavy things in order to lift yet heavier things, etc. Wouldn't it be cool if we could use this same app to graph that stuff alongside our habits? To me this would be way more useful
Perfect App out there. Thank you for creating such a wonderful app as an open source, ad free project. Best legacy to live behind, Developer! And I loved how you highlighted Meditation!! Jst a small suggestion: Add the ability to transfer app to sd card. Ppl having Budget Phone's with low memory will be benefited. More giving to society! :)
I would give it a 5 star rating if they enable some reward system and also a social aspect, because even syncing is an issue when you change your devices. One has to export the file which is not the smartest way at our disposal these days! Please enable syncing!
This app is simple and right to the point. I love that there are no ads and they aren't constantly asking for reviews. It makes people more likely to WANT to leave a nice review when the app doesn't annoy you about it. I strongly recommend this app if you have a daily routine that you would like to follow. Or of course tracking your good and bad habits.
Was tired of trying to find the privacy policy for other habit tracking apps. You should not just give your daily habits away to any random app that will happily sell that data to the highest bidder. Then I finally found this app - open source and add free. It's nice to find a secure way to track your habits. Oh, and the app is clean and functional with slick material design.
Great that this app is ad-free, but I agree with some other reviewer's comments. The calendar is super confusing and should be changed to a standard monthly format or at least let us choose a setting to change it to standard. It would also be nice to be able to add notes to each day. If I want to stop drinking coffee, and I mark a day as a negative day where I drink coffee, it would be helpful to be able to add how many cups I had. This would just add another layer of habit tracking that I think is very useful.
???? It's a useful app, and I appreciate how it's practical and minimal. However I do have some suggestions for this app, based on what I came across as a user. (1) Sounds so it feels more interactive, like a "ting!" for it to feel more motivating (2) Better widget functions (3) Allow to place duration of habit, and have a timer function that has customizable background, notes, and music, and let that function even if I lock my phone or leave the app.. But overall good app!
THANKS FOR THIS FANTASTIC APP! I love your minimalistic design! Info on the main page doesn't overwhelm you with percentages, "connections" and other distractions. I can easily group and colour code my habits/tasks, and view frequency of all of them on the same page! Awesome job, guys!!! Ps. Could you please-please make this app available in apple app store?
It doesn't offer to give your habbit a time. Eg; meditation, exercise but at which time. You should add to include this so we can add a specific time interval for every activity. I hope to see this within a month. I appreciate your work what you have done till now. Thank you
Best habit app. I've tested a few others and this one gets the job done - you can easily check off habits, it motivates you by providing a score of how well you've done for the month and year, and you can set reminders that are easily customisable. Doesn't have the bells and whistles of other apps but I don't think it needs them - this app is easy to use and does exactly what I want it to do!
For its purposes, it works but for making it accessible and easy to use, it lacks. There is no way to save or transfer data when transferring a phone or even accounts. All my data from the year was lost and I had to start over. The appeal of the app is the tracking software and the ability to see changes over a period of time. If those changes disappear into cyberspace frequently then there is nothing keeping me tethered to the app. I tried for 45 minutes to figure out how to export the data and import it on my new phone. My efforts proved fruitless. It's a nice app, but lacks for continuity and longevity.
Absolutely love it. Using the tick widgets to list habits on my phone pages rather than scrolling through the app, makes it super easy to get organised. My only wish is that you could have multiple occurances on a day, but doesn't make me love it any less.
Great app. I love that it provides information about streaks but focuses on a habit score instead. The habit score is forgiving if you miss a day which keeps me from becoming discouraged if I break a streak. Has a few different sets of info for each habit- the habit score, a record of best streaks, a calendar view, and frequency by day each month. Open-source, ad-free, clean UI, and doesn't ask for lots of permissions. The way an app should be!
App is decent. But I kinda wish it had a vibration reminder feature though to let you know when to preform your daily habit check. "Should be considered an option." It'll help motivate you too. And a option that let's you remind your self every 2 or 3 hours would be nice from time to time through out the day. Then I'd give it 5 stars. And some notes would be cool too to take notes on when you did your habit or not. Etc. Thanks. :)
I've been using this app for nearly a year now and it's been a great tool in helping me develop and keep track of new habits. The only thing I would love to see added is an option to track the number of times a habit is completed in a day instead of only yes or no. Other than that, this is everything I'm looking for in a habit tracking app!
Excellent app. Provides features available mostly in paid version for free! I tried many apps, but this is the most intuitive! Suggestions: Can you please add categories section.? Like I would divide my habits into categories like, learning, reading, exercise, sports etc. 2) Random color chosen automatically for next habit.
Amazing habit tracker. Clean, simple - you get exactly what you're expecting with no weird quirks. Great reminders and ux config. This has been super helpful for keeping me on top of habits, and isn't bad to look at. The analytics are pretty awesome - the only gap seems to be the ability to go back to old habits. Might be a "feature" so that you're stuck addressing them in the same week. Regardless, awesome app. Download it!
It's simple. Does what it says. Would like the ability to have backgrounds. It would be cool to have inspirational pictures or wallpapers that add to it. Also when picking a habit, maybe be able to specify a habit that your trying to do at different times of the day, break it up in times. If that makes sense. Biggest thing,to have backgrounds. Really the program is pretty good.
This app was a game changer for reminding me about meds and activities I should be doing daily. Much less annoying than an alarm and sticky notifications make sure I can't dismiss it without actually doing it. It has absolutely helped me stay on track and I believe it will continue to be a vital resource going forward!
The app is great for tracking habits. It is easy to use and highly useful at the same time. The only thing I am missing is like a number next to the habit name which tells you how high your current streak is. That would give some extra motivation
Helps me stay on track of everything that I need to do to be organized. Had it for a bit now, and I've even managed to conquer my worst habit of sleeping in. I get things done now, and I have a checklist to encourage me of my progress. Very simple design, and I don't even use the reminders. Not too many apps I would recommend, but this is one of them.
only 2 problems. first, the calendar when you go into the habit is very confusing and can't be changed. and second, once you click on a habit to see details you have to click out then reclick into a different one to view the next habit making it a long process if you have more then 2 habits in the list. if these 2 things are fixed then definitely deserves 5 stars.
Easy to use and simple , quick. i tried many apps. But those apps are toomuch take time . Annoying. I don't want waste my time in phone. this is Exactly what i needed. But onething. pls add category. I need category. I like to separate morning habits and evening habits . And i have to track my 2 kids habits too. When i scrolling i have to search my habit. It's bit time consuming in busy days. Any Way great app for my 2 kids to track their habit.
I really like this app except for one thing: when I have set a habit for 2 times a week for example and I check both tuesday and friday, the days inbetween apparently don't count as fullfilled which is honestly... really disheartening considering I did follow my set habit. you should make it so that a week starts on monday. or at least make that an option.
Great functionality. Easy to use, and fantastic for tracking habits. I use it to keep track of health issues, so I wish there was an option to add a brief note to entries. The backup function doesn't seem to work for me. Otherwise, I love this app!
The best app for short-term planning. I was doing the checklist which looked exactly like this but on the paper, until I discovered this. Thank you very much it is really helpful app. I love it. But I have some ideas to improve it: add a possibility to describe the task, but just something simple because I love the simplicity of this app. And a possibility to add an old statistics, but it's good just for my situation with my old paper checklist I don't know if others would need it.
Was using Habitbull and law that Loop had a better rating. I wanted to use it as a tally for one habit--for example, how many times I did XYZ in the day, or how many times did I rehearse a paragraph today. Sadly you can have one repetition of a habit per day. Uninstalling.
Looks good sofar. If it had a option for quick notes, it'd be 5 stars. It could be useful to track bad habits, but you can always change the question to "drink 1 cup or less of coffee". A note of 1/2 cup or something would be useful here too.
By far the best habit encouragement app I've used. No harsh penalties when you miss a habit for a while - the "strength" graph declines slowly. Flexible - you can have daily or weekly habits, x times per week habits, etc. And the various charts and graphs are useful to track your progress and pleasant to look at.
I've tried many different habit forming and goal tracking apps, and this is the best. Works perfectly and looks beautiful... and best of all its ad free. If I can make one suggestion, I wish there were a journal function so I could add a note to each day that I complete a habit.
This has been an elegant solution in helping me keep up with the daily&weekly things I need to remember to do for and with my 2 year old son. AND, my favorite part is that the graphs and statistics hold you accountable!(as well as the reminders). The graphs and stats also kinda make it fun and like a game. If you want you're stats or "points" to go up, you'll want to complete yours tasks!

An elegant solution for a simple task. Really nice, simple widgets make it super easy to tick off habits at the end of the day. Especially appreciate the ability to export data into CSV so I can look for correlations with my other data and see what helps and what doesn't. Overall a very useful app, devs have hit upon my use case very well. One feature I'd like to see is tracking multiple habits in the graph widget. Not a huge deal since I can do my own visualizations with the CSV, though.
