Physics World for Android
And I like it best
I have Lollipop and it works alright on my phone. Need to improve it, though. Currently you can't zoom in/out, so some of the larger images are very difficult to see. Also, 'sharing' an interesting page with friends on Facebook doesn't work.
Loving it. And it works on my BlackBerry Passport too. Thanks IoP.
Very quick and easy to use. Simple interface and everything is available.
Had given it four stars initially, down to one star now. First a functioning app. was removed and replaced by a "holding" app without any functionality and without much of an explanation and now, after quite a long time we are presented with an app. full of bugs. Can't download a single issue, all I am getting is download errors. For a magazine presenting the latest developments in science that is nothing but pathetic and embarrassing. Get you act together, people.
Seems a very good app, working fine.
Unable to login after update
Magazine crashes a few seconds after opening.

This app was working fine, no problems. Since upgrading to lollipop, it doesn't work at all. Please fix this!
Worked fine on 4.4.4, after upgrade will not stay open longer than a few seconds.
Can't use with lollipop
Crashes on lollipop
I emailed the company 2 days ago and they said the android version was left behind because of technical issues for the new format but either today or tomorrow they will provide the update for it. I`ll try to update this comment when/if it comes. (With 5 stars if it works right)
Not working at all. Needs to be sorted.
IoP of should take control of this and get it sorted.
No longer able to use it anymore!
Cannot see magazines.
Keep up to date with new truths of nature to apply in engineering.
For physics updates...
A forced update that isn't an update rendering the app useless
Don't know what happened, doesn't work any more
No content even when logged in with a valid subscription.
When you open it, it just says "coming soon". This isn't an app at all
Unable to sign in in version 2.00, issues won't appear
The old version stopped working, and this update doesn't work either.
After updating to the latest version I'm unable to view any magazine editions.
Why replace a working app with a non-working one? Seems crazy
Bring back the last version, I would like to read this magazine! What is the point of forcing an update if the update isn't ready?
V1 of the app was poorly designed and extremely slow, but at least it had content. v2 updated the layout a little bit but doesn't seem to improve much on the main usability issues like being unable to tell if you are logged in or not, and the only content is a download telling you to get excited about the new updated app coming soon.
App works well, it does exactly what it says in description. One can even download whole issues of PhysicsWorld to read them offline. To all morons given the app one star because they can't use it; it clearly states in description that one has to be a member of IOP to access the content. If you can't even read how would you understand anything about Physics?
Finally a good magazine about physics that is comprehensible and easy to read.
And I like it best
Functionality is great, though the option to download PDFs would be great. Could be a little smoother but overall its an enjoyable app to use! One other annoyance is that when downloading for offline reading, the downloads keep stopping for no reason which makes the whole process a lot longer.
Great app, works even on my htc phone, great for when you don't have a hard copy handy! The negative reviews are from people who aren't Institute of Physics members, the app isn't misleading it clearly says "You can get free access to the magazine if you are a member of the Institute of Physics". My advice is join the IoP!
4 stars for delivering what I wanted with a rather good interface yet a bug in the downloading process. Thanks.
If u want access this the ticket
Good app
The content and layout is exactly the same as the paper magazine, which is as good as ever, so gets five stars for that. It also has the very useful option of a text and picture view for individual articles, rather than a view of the whole page, so you can read it on smaller devices. However, the user interface still needs a bit more work so it loses a star. Specifically: Downloading is slow and randomly stops I haven't found a way to delete individual issues that you've downloaded If you double click on an article in a page to go the text view, there is no way to go straight back to the page after reading the article.
