Free Basics by Facebook

Thank you for this app. As a pensioner I dont always have money for a data bundle, with this app I can keep up with the news. Please make it easier to remove history. eg Select All. Everything is in history, so when finished there may be 100's of things to delete. one at a time take long time. so please.

Free basics is the best. But one problem. Your app is old now for about 1 year. Please make an update for the app where you can get 20mb free data every day just like the free basics site. And your new free basics website doesn't support old browsers like opera mini and default browser. Some people don't get better browsers like chrome, firefox etc. due to low storage or their android versions are too old (below 4.0.3, eg. 2.3, 3.0). By the way free basics are better than before.

This is a very very very useless app, how can use Facebook without viewing the pictures, if it's just for messages so what the use of messenger? It's good for other sites but it doesn't make sense on Facebook at all.

What's the use of bing within this app, if we cannot browse any website without data charges with bing?? That's absurd. I hope next versions will allow at least minimum browsing by bing.

Can't access free Facebook after update.... No picture on previous Facebook... Some sites need money to fully use like the news one can't access articles.

I am Novo, i am greatly benefited by free basics. Add more informative websites such as Tourism , car & helicopters service, Air ticket service, currency exchange rate, overseas college , university, & hospitals ,Website etc. But in facebook , the pictures are not available in the free mode. That is my Number 1 problem. If pictures are seen in the free mode. So Facebook users will be increasing day by day. Thanks by nobo

App takes too much time to be opened on its given free sites. But unfortunately if we turn on mobile data in smart phone then the smart phone itself starts consuming data and balance and we find message by telenor operator that u r using standard data package. And sad to say if don't have balance in phone then the app doesn't show any response. So I conclude; nothing is as such free as we are told.

It's a very useful app not only for students but also for everyone who likes to take a peek at weather reports and breaking news. I highly recommend this app, very useful and FREE!

I love freebasics but after the last update I am unable to open any website. Fb and messanger is working fine but whenever I tried to open any free site it just keeps loading. Plz solve it.

Free basics is a good app. I'm using it for a long time. unfortunately, lately it can't open wattpad e'en I have a data connection. I'll give 5 stars if it 'll work well.

I like this app. It is really helpfull to me as a learner. Reader.and quite no fine data to used. My concern is there is no stop button when i accidentally hit the search menu or button. Thanks.

Since today any free data i want to open tells me it cant operate in chrome and i need to find another browser. No browser i try works...so how do i proceed?

This app sometimes freezes on websites. Better to use chrome or Opera to access the free websites. Go to the free basics website on your browser. On some websites like news 24 only certain sections are free. Note this app only works on Cell C in South Africa.

I'm still happy with the running of the application but please allow all functions of the supported service to be accessible. Good example is News24 where I have to go through the entire site to check which one is free to access.

No longer works with my fb. Always tells me that there is no internet connection. However free basic is supposed to be their and its not.

I can't use it whenever i tap on the sites given free, it always says internal error

This is my favourite app, I used it everyday until now when I open it takes a lot of time loading and show a message "something went wrong" I keep on refreshing it but nothing. I kept on uninstalling it and downloading it again and again but the problem still persist. Please help.

It's very useful and helpful, now I can research something important outside my house w/o using wifi and I can contact someone thru messenger or etc conviently. Thank you so much!

Wikipedia doesn't work anymore always saying internal error and Facebook doesn't even show the pictures. I doubt that this app will be useful in future.

Why don't you at least show pictures, and If it is a no then why do you show the profile pictures when everyone updated?

The olx link are not accessable.. once you put link in your app it should be ready to use.. kindly fix it.. the app is good but a lil disapointment

Facebook is the most commonly used app but no photos showing. How will you call that free? My family is on the other planet and I wanted to see their faces atleast on fb. How will you call that communication?

I think this app will help me to access facebook even if i don't have balance. Well should try this.

News 24 on Cellc have problems. Give a a diffident menu if I want to open News 24 in this app. Can't report problem in app, link have been moved.

They dont tell you its only available on the cell c network until after you download it. What a waste of data.

World News channels like Reuters, CNN, BBC, DW, AFP can contribute here for free short news. Essential medical support or hospital numbers, various country codes, currency conversion and monthly GDP news, Police Station numbers, Banks locations etc can be provided. The apps is greatly useful.
