TuxGuitar for Android
Impressive, simple and inspires creation. Many tab makers are clunky and difficult to get the sound you want. With this app you have the full potential to create your own song and have it play smoothly. You can also use it to tab a song you love that you couldn't find an accurate representation of online. As far as complaints go, you cant drag a note into another measure which might end up making you backtrack if you messed up earlier. However despite this issue I would still rate it 4.5/5 for being so simple and easy. Recommended to anyone who has or would like to build and interest in playing guitar.
Best Guitar Pro App ever,. the quality of the sounds is good,. all the dream app for guitarist is in the package.. But some time get sloppy or chunky sounds specially when using 16 bit PERCUSSION...
Sorely missing a copy paste function. Also has a fairly awkward interface. For example, the undo button is hidden behind 2 drop downs. I think some important functions could be added to the editing menu. These two problems (mostly the lack of copy paste) ruin an otherwise great guitar tab writing app.
Love it. Great for downloading mates projects, showing off my ideas on the go, and writing riffs when travelling. Biy difficult with the touch screen at first on smaller screens, but still awesome!
Simple tab writing program that almost does the job I want. Only problem is I can't copy a measure to edit small variations between rounds, am I missing something?
While composing a song for about 20 minutes I accidently tapped one of the ads which opened on my Internet browser. When I closed the ad and was able to return back to the app I lost all my work!
10 yrs. of guitar tab creation in Guitar Pro v5.2 under my belt. need to edit tabs on the go. Official Guitar Pro Android app is worthless so I tried this and it's REALLY GOOD but still needs basic things to make it worth buying the Ad-Free version: copy-paste, 8-String guitar tunings, there is a bug when adding tracks from the + button versus when adding via "Tracks" menu, and the playback is choppy on a brand new Galaxy S7. How do I make the playback tempo-consistent? Please, developer, make these changes
Really good for an open source apps. I cant find any way to write closed harmonics though, or pressed fretboard harmonics we call it?
It's nice to be able to open my GPro files on the tablet without the expense of their app. Q. How do i delete notes from an existing file though? I can add but not delete.
Make it more easier by adding 'Copy & Paste' thing, add some important tools directly in the screen like 'palm mute and tied note, then I'll give you 5 star and this will be the perfect tab editor app ever!
I had a hard time when using this app coz there is no guides of how each buttons work.
The lack of copy paste completely ruins an otherwise solid app.
The tabs a right but it skips a beat at the start of each bar and the sound is clunky I use the PC version and it's awesome but I need this for travel and if the sound was better it be an awesome app
I love that I can write song tabs but if the notes play too fast the sound lags a bit and it can get annoying when you want to play along with it.
I cannot save the files.please tell me how to do
Hmmm it will be more better if you add a copy, cut or paste measure function in it just like on the pc version. It will be a lot more easier to compose tabs if you add it
Been looking for a while for an app that would play my power tab and guitar pro files Tux Guitar does both. Fantastic!
How do I make triplets? Everything else makes sense but I can't find the way to make triplets. Help
Please make it so we can make area selections then we can copy and paste it or we can loop at the area selections at playback
Good app but I hate adverts on screen.
Definitely Awesome. Simple and no nonsense..
Copy and paste please
This beats the Guitar Pro app.
Best guitar tabular app ever
This app is awesome........
Good app
I finally figured out how to do this app. I wish it would go down to 3 string
Only took me five minutes to realize you can't do quarter note triplets. Please add this!
Could be better. I use this on a tablet, and the control buttons are so small I can't just use my finger. I have to use a stills to put in the info. You should have included a way to change their size. Also, I tried to work around that problem with a keyboard, only your app doesn't work with a keyboard. I generally like your app but I get very frustrated with how tiny the buttons are.
After years of looking for something like this to compose on my Android, I finally found it. This app kicks Guitar Pros ass for sure. Can this let you export files?
I really like it...but i don't know how to add slur to the notes...can you help please? And updates can improve the reality of the instruments
Could you please add a copy measure under the measure options?
Its a decent tablature app. Pretty self explanitory. Only problem i have is that it is such a hassle to send tabs you've made. Im trying to send the other guitarist in my band a song iv just finished tabbing out and not even on google can i find a forum to help me with putting the files in even a different format to send or anything...but other than not being able to send tabs. Its a decent app.
Well made app, especially for being free. Only suggestion might be to have the menus a bit less cluttered, and organize the app a bit better. Also maybe make drums a lil easier to program. Other than that, well done! Love the app!
I was looking for an alternative for guitar pro and this little tux was exactly what I needed. Although, I don't know if it's tux or not, but woith a 60 bpm video in the background and 60 set in tux, I really can't get the notes to click. Something is odd and off. Maybe some .5 values for the tempo would help? XD
I love the app, and I have the program on my pc. The one thing that bothers me is that when I load a song, the beat (drums) isn't consistent. It will slow down then skip a bit to catch up and it messes with the song.
I am a fan of Tuxguitar as the best open source guitar software ever. This is a decent first port to android although it has a lot of bugs. Cannot access storage is one I guess it's a problem with the app file explorer, the app will keep flickering and will eventually crash your devise. There are many important features that disappeared like the repeat. Also sometimes the left drawer menu will stop functioning. Update 06-2-2016: the problems I was talking about of the flickering when trying to open a file have been fixed.
I am unable to figure out how to switch between tracks while composing??!! help please! :) BTW great app. lots of features as compared to guitar pro android app which I had bought recently. Wish I had found this earlier
This app has major potential, but it's a little tricky to use because the interface isn't very logical. Either that, or it is just missing essential items - Can't change the tuning for the tab, can't find help, and a share option might be nice so that I could ship my tabs to other band members. Also, I just wrote a nice big tab on my first time sitting down to play with it. Took awhile because of the design, and now I can't seem to save it. This could be an amazing app, but until I can save my work...

Very good Tab Editor. I tried all and this one is able to play and edit files for free. Really needs a Copy/Paste Measure function and quicker access to 'Effects' (Palm Mute, Slurs etc), maybe add a single drop-down Button to the main Interface. Or even make the Interface customizable what to display at some point. Right now it takes three clicks to add one Effect for every single note, thats why it also needs a multiple note selection feature (i.e. long-press). Thank you for the great app!
