What are users saying about gPodder

D70%
by D####:

Can't I add my gpodder account and get that information synced in this app? Then it loses it's point imho.

D70%
by D####:

Feature list says sync but no sync implemented. Without that, there are much better apps out there.

P70%
by P####:

I see no way to set your preferred download folder. I also use the auto rename to date and title on my desktop. That also seems to be missing

V70%
by V####:

Could be the perfect solution, if all versions (Win/Linux/Android in my case) would work together better.

H70%
by H####:

Design and functionality could be superb, if did not crash while listening.

D70%
by D####:

Am I missing something. Can't even log in to my account.

W70%
by W####:

Useless app until Sync is implemented for Android.

D70%
by D####:

I love this application but wish the audio player part interfaced with headphone controls and a lockscreen control.

J70%
by J####:

Doesn't work

P70%
by P####:

One of the best podcast receiver I've ever seen with simple, clean and fast UI. The network speed of this receiver even beat BeyondPod and gPodder is so stable! All I need now is the description of the episode! Keep up the good work! Oh BTW I think the search feature is slow and it's not necessary at all so you can consider adding it or not.

C70%
by C####:

Great, but 3 problems. Does not play audio file in background. Cannot resume play after interuptions, such as calls. No OPML import/ export.

D70%
by D####:

Keeps crashing on me, also can't see how to synchronise between install on my laptop with the install on my phone - or is that just something on the development road map at the moment, I wonder.

R70%
by R####:

This app has no reason to call itself gpodder if it's not going to sync your podcasts with gpodder. Back to pocket casts for me.

D70%
by D####:

pc bersion is better, the app doesn't even sync

D70%
by D####:

Says sync but it doesn't exist

G70%
by G####:

What's the point of this app if it doesn't fully integrate into the service of which it's named?

X70%
by X####:

Seems possibly okay, but the only reason to get this app over something like podkicker is the ability to sync with your gpodder account. Until that is added, I'll probably keep using podkicker.

U70%
by U####:

please add the function for importing subscription from an opml file

O70%
by O####:

Is it ever coming?

X70%
by X####:

Con: lack of podcast sources, dead sources haven't removed, no tablet UI, it's scaled up from phone apps. You can't stream from some manually added podcasts sources. Pro: simple interface and easy to navigate into the content

M70%
by M####:

It just shows you a link when you subscribe a YouTube channel, that's it? This must be a bug. It didn't happened before.

U70%
by U####:

So the slowest Podapp from Linux made the jump to android and it is still based on the worst python code I have ever seen.

B70%

W70%

That's what the description says, but it is not apparent how you're supposed to login with your gPodder account...so please change the description or make this feature more user-friendly, if it actually exists

Y70%
by Y####:

I couldn't make it more than 20 minutes through a downloaded episode without the app crashing. I still use the desktop version of this program, the app just didn't work for me.

U70%
by U####:

I listen to a few sports talk radio shows and this is a good alternative to itunes.

T70%
by T####:

I'm not sure how many only listen to on a mobile device, but without sync that's all it's good for.

U70%
by U####:

it says sync in the description but I can't find any way to access my gpodder account

S70%
by S####:

Gpodder is superb on Ubuntu, brilliant on Sailfish and now brings android up to date.

C70%
by C####:

The main thing I was looking for :( any plans on this?

S70%
by S####:

The player crashes after just a few minutes of playback and I'm not able to open the downloaded files in another player without some contortions. The actual subscription management seems to work well enough

U70%
by U####:

It's easy to use and manage podcasts. Not to mention actually find them and add them. Would be great if it saved files to SD Card or at least give a choice of "path" to save to.

S70%
by S####:

Please change the UI...... ITS CRAZY..... I'M not even sure if its does what is said in the discribtion....... Where is the sync option? Where are the podcasts downloaded to? ....etc........

S70%
by S####:

But it still needs gpodder sync as it is in poddax.

J70%
by J####:

This app is useful to learn "listening English" for me. I was looking for to download BBC Postcasts for improving listening. Now I can download them on gpodder with funny, interesting documentaries :)

S70%
by S####:

I've used the windows version of this for a long time, and when i installed this, it seemed to me like it was just using the name. This is nothing like what i am used to using on windows. It doesn't have a real settings page, and as far as i can tell it doesn't even have settings. Installed it on my phone and tablet, and uninstalled it 5 minutes later. I'll just keep using podkicker.

R70%

I can't work out if the sync between devices feature is missing or hidden. Either way this is currently a waste of time. I use gpodder on my desktop and hoped this would make my life easier. It didn't.

R70%
by R####:

I saw this when thinking of moving away from gpodder, so I thought I would give it a whirl. From what I saw it is nice looking and smooth thigh I didn't download and listen to anything. This is because I thought it would have integration with my gpodder account. A bit of a crazy idea for the gpodder app!

R70%
by R####:

I was excited to find gpodder since I use it on my Linux machine but it needs a lot of work. It is hard to read with the grey on grey color scheme and it lacks most of the features of the Linux version. What I need most is the ability to setup username and password for subscription podcasts. I'll check back later, keep working on it!
