M.A.L.P. - MPD Client

this is the one you want to get, not mpdroid. adds albums to playlists in correct order. interface is easier to use. nice work!

Great app with a very nice user interface. One feature request: an option to set an cover art folder path to load covers from your music player, like most MPD players have.

UI is straight up hideous but the important thing is that it works, and it's fast, which is more than can be said for any of the other MPD clients on google play.

It's a pity, it seems it can't playback audio from server on local Android device.

A great little app that really comes to life as soon as it connects to your mpd server. Congrats to the developers!

Bitmpc stopped working so I downloaded the first mpd client that came up in the store not expecting much. But wow, this is so much better than any mobile mpd client I've ever used. Better than most desktop ones too.

Normally I rarely write about apps but this one is the best Android player. After using and discarding mpd clients on various platforms I always enjoyed using M.A.L.P. for its great multi profile management and clean UI. It is the perfect interface for an old tablet to your sound setups. Hell, it could be my startup shell.

Not only is it the best MPD client on any platform that I've tried so far, it's a very nicely done Android app in its own right, complete with gorgeous colour themes and a clean and easy to use Material Design interface.

Works ok and looks good, but ... Albums with 'various artists' are shown repeatedly (e.g. for every track) in album list. No wifi based connection profiles and no local cover art.

Awesome. Best among similar applications. I'm waiting for stream functionality. Also, I would like to be able to open files that are located outside of music_directory.

Cannot keep connection in background very well (even without any energy saving mode turned on)

What I especially liked about this app is the ability to create profiles for different mpd servers. It is also very configurable, and easy to use. I would like to suggest an option to sort albums by year.

Awesome remote, fast and responsive plus it pull the artwork from the server. Yes I used IP address and it worked no problem.

Can't use an IP address? Into the trash. EDIT: developer replied and said I could use an IP address, but I tried again just now, and once again, it does not accept an IP address, if you try to use one, the button in the bottom right does nothing, and if I press back, it will save all settings except for the address.

This is the ONLY Android MPD client I've found which allows searching on ALL tags configured on the MPD server side. I specify the date added in the "Comments" tags of all my music and now I can finally use it from my tablet and phone. That plus all the other features/functionality make this one of the best MPD client apps I've tried. [Update] The developer just updated the app with the ONE missing feature I was looking for: A widget to control operations from the home screen! That was the one thing holding me back from switching to it as my sole MPD client. Great job guys!

This app is really easy to use - supports multiple mpd servers, and works with mpd DLNA backend... other clients which I tried either didn't work at all with DLNA or were cumbersome to use. This app ticks all boxes for me...

can't wait for http streaming support (e.g. from icecast) in the future

Even though It does not run om my Tablet (lenovo idea a1000f with android 4.1.2), this version fulfills my request that the volume button on my phone controls the mpd player volume. So, as stated in previous review, that rounds up to 5-star ;) Good job, Thnx

This is the only MPD control I tried that runs fast and smooth and doesn't try to download the whole library at start. I have over 30k tracks, so this is quite vital. Despite some features I miss here, M.A.L.P. is surely the nicest, thank you!

Cool app guys. Keep up the good work. I use it with moode on raspberry pi, works great. One nice feature would be to flush the artwork/pictures per album/artist basis and not remove them all. And also to be able to choose an artwork/picture when multiple files are available.

I tested a lot of MPD Android clients, and this is simply the best app. This client is beautiful, simple to use, UI is awesome !
