About the new 2015 App

Could you become a Dragon Finder? With Froglife's Dragon Finder app you can:
* Identify reptiles and amphibians. Identify adult reptiles and amphibians as well as their eggs, larvae and calls. Simple questionnaires, illustrations and photographs will help you identify animals, and you can compare photographs of different species to make sure you've identified the animal correctly.
* Report a sighting. Submit your records quickly and easily using the recording form. Use your phone's GPS function to determine your location or manually input your location. Use this form to submit information about dead or diseased animals to help track the spread of deadly diseases in the UK. Each time you submit a species record, you are given a gold star for that species to help you can keep a track of the animals that you've spotted - why not see how many stars you can collect?!
* Find out more about individual species. Read about the distribution, ecology, life-cycle and eggs and larvae of each species. Get tips for identification. Listen to recordings of calls.
There is a wealth of wildlife to discover in the UK - whether you live in the countryside or the city - so why not get out there and go in search of dragons!

Sightings that include photos will only be uploaded when WiFi is available.
The app will now upload Sightings even if an included photo is not available at the time of upload.

I, like others can't seem to get the photo uploader to work :( is there an unspoken size limit?

Only works with a postcode. Need to put in a grid reference and photos AFTER a walk is finished

The app seems okay could be better though it is free I suppose. I am slightly concerned over the terms and conditions relating to the data I provide and photographs which Froglife claim publishing rights to. Probably best to use other online recording systems which do not do this.

I went on holiday to Dorset and saw a lizard , I looked and found it was actually the rare sand lizard!!

It is surprising how many people can't tell a frog from a toad! This app will help people to identify a wide range of frogs, toads, newts, lizards and turtles. I enjoyed listening to the animal's calls.

Tried uploading record with photo but it just keeps saying "waiting for Wi-Fi" even though the phone is right next to the router. Requiring a postcode was tricky. Fortunately the location had a national trust postcode. Shame the app can't use the gps location data in the photo.
