About FindEm
In India, a child goes missing every eight minutes, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau. Almost 40% of those children haven't been found. Social media has been successful bringing a few people back home. We want more of this to happen. So, we build a tool which uses the power of social media to find missing people. The best thing about this project is. The project uses free and open resources. Hence, we have no strings attached to this. If you have a better idea you can collect all the data we make and build a better tool and take credit for it. We are happy as long as we can bring more people back home :)
Effective Reporting
Our tool enforces few standards in the report you make so that its easy to search. The report contains information about the person such as status, sex, age group and location expressed in hash tags. It's both human and machine friendly. A boy spotted at Richmond town is reported as "#SPOTTED #MALE #CHILD #560025"
Powerful Search
Since our tool enforces few standards while reporting the search becomes very powerful. The query to find all lost people in Richmond town area will be "SPOTTED #560025". We can go more specific, "#SPOTTED #MALE #CHILD #560025" give you the reports of all boys spotted at this area.
Work with us
We have made use of free and open tools to build this app. Hence, you can extend it the way you like. You can use the data here to make a face matching algorithm between spotted and lost reports or you can use the data to find vulnerable areas. The possibilities are limitless. Let's find them.
