About Simple Metronome

This application is a simple metronome. It's simple but has a very stable tempo, unlike
some of the other free metronome applications. And unlike nearly all free applications this
metronome has NO ADS so your kids won't be solicited by dating sites whilst practicing
their instrument.

PERMISSIONS NOTE: The only required permission for this app is for Power Management so it can keep the screen on (on user request).

Features:
Stable tempo
1st beat accent
Store "Favorites" for quick tempo recall (great for setting tempos for live performances)
Visual click for silent operation

Free, works well, no ads, no unreasonable permissions - what's not to love! The full-screen "Visual Click" is great to have. This app can be part of a musician's toolkit of essentials; Tap Tempo answers the question "how fast are they taking that?" I'd also suggest DaTuner Lite (unless you play piano, accordion, vibes, or another instrument you don't tune yourself). You might also like LiveBPM (for a few dollars), an "unmetronome" that listens and detects the actual tempo, with a numeric display plus a graph for the last five minutes.

I researched for hours to find this perfectly simple app. Stability and simplicity is really all a musician needs. Just 1 thing I'd like to see added. The ability to turn off the blinking light, as there is a slight lag between the sound and light. I learned that is something that can't be fixed in an Android platform. Thank you Ethan Brown. This app has saved the day, and free with no ads just can't be beat!

This and Irrational Metronome (for the rare complicated odd meters) cover all my needs. This one has a very clean and easy to use interface. It allows me to tap the tempo, select different click sounds, and says what a particular tempo range is called. Very nice. The uncluttered interface allows me to use it on the fly, such as to tap out which tempo the conductor is using during rehearsal, so I can write it down in pencil on my sheet music and practice at the same one later at home. It can also blink the screen in time to the tempo, but I keep that turned off because I don't like the blinking and because there is a slight delay (in any case, a little red indicator light also blinks, which is enough for me).

I was after a straight forward metronome to keep me in tempo when laying down a backing track. Everything else I tried was far to complicated for my requirements. This great little app is perfect. Thanks so much.

Great app. It would be better if the visual click was precisely on sync with the audio as opposed to flashing a split second before. Also I just updated as it is noted that the update allows the click to keep playing whilst using other apps. It doesn't work with YouTube which would be great for me when getting precise tempos from YouTube music. Not complaining as it's free and I'm very grateful! Thanks!

I run with Bluetooth headphones, and I'm using this app to track my running cadence. It would be useful if I could get the metronome tick through the Bluetooth headphones via Android Wear, rather than from vibrations.

I've tried most of the metronome apps in the store, including paid apps, and keep coming back to this one for everyday use. I use it for music and to double check my heart rate readings. It has the most responsive tap function of all the apps. Simple and functional wins every time. I would love to be able to switch the tap button to the right hand side of the screen, but that is simply a "frosting on the cake" wish. And polyrhythmic beat capability would make this app out of this world.

Very nice app, very useful and nicely done. Suggestion: Is it possible to add the +/- buttons to change the tempo on the lock screen? I'd like to see and change the current tempo without having unlock my phone.

fantastic app, is truly simple and accessible to the visually impaired. Is nice and basic, but has some helpful and well-designed features to! And it's ad-free!! Work's well on slow-devices!

Why it doesn't vibrate, only bips. Add vibration option to it.

Perfect. I'm learning the piano, and this keeps me honest. I've even saved the tempos and time signatures, with the name of the pieces I'm learning so I don't have to set them up every time... Suggest a donations page so that happy users can tip the dev ;)

Does exactly what I need plus a little more. The choices of sounds for the metronome are great, a couple of them actually made me laugh - a nice feature for young musicians I'm sure! Best of all it's free and doesn't have sleazy sneeky ad tracking or any other invasive and unnecessary permission requirements. Thank you, dev, for offering this for free!

K70%
by K####:

like that it's simple free and requires no permission but I would have loved it if I could keep it running while the audible app is running at the same time. using a metronome app to control my cadence while running and would like to listen to my book at the same time.

This works. Simple. No bullshit and it doesn't crash. Used Mobile Metronome for nearly a year until it started crashing and it's yet to be fixed. Switched to Simple Metronome and we're back in action. Does the job.

The app is very easy to operate. Runs smoothly, without hitches. Features provided are enough for most people. No internet required. Moreover, it is free! My heartfelt thanks to the generosity of the developers and all others involved in providing such a good and free app. Such people remind me of the Creator who has provided everything free in His magnificent Creation. May He bless your team!
