About Entropy Piano Tuner

Tune your piano by a new method based on entropy minimization, which
takes the individual characteristics of your instrument into account.

The tuning is carried out in three steps:

- Record all keys of your piano.
- Compute the optimal tuning automatically.
- Use the integrated tuner to tune your piano.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Piano tuning requires sophisticated skills. Please read the remarks on
the help pages before starting.

Great look! Feel is nice! The tuner is inaccurate on the mobile app. Tried over and over. Re calculating too. Simply would not tune precisely. Needs some work. I'm sure this is just a bug.

N70%
by N####:

With the first piano tuning exercise with my piano, I kind of got lost when the instruction says I have to trust my ears. This app completely saved me from making my piano complete disaster.

A70%
by A####:

Crashes immediately at start up. Reinstalled, same thing.

E70%

Crashes immediately.

I was once a piano tuner and repairman, but I always used an expensive tuner. When I got out of the business I sold the tuner for $1000. Then, when I needed a tuner again I found Entropy. I'm sorry it crashes on some people's phones, but it works great on mine and makes my piano sound great. I am very impressed with this program.

This app is just cool. However, it worked with some bugs in tuning mode..on android. But i have downloaded version for pc and i am happy. If you got your phono very out of tune, u ve got to pretune with some other app. If u tune for first time in your life, then it is essential to read some academic guid on tuning first. I mean that without understanding the construction of the piano, the key operation technic and some music theory you are very likely to harm the phono. Have a good luck! Thanks to apps authors so much. The sound and temperation very smooth

I have now tuned my piano three times with this app. The first time, it was to do a pitch raise of about a half step. The last two have been regular tunings. However, the app crashes frequently. I have a new Samsung tablet using Android 6.0. I have to save my work frequently because I know this app is going to stop working after tuning a few notes. I like it, but it could be better.

I was trained to do aural tuning about twenty years ago. I've used ETDs to speed up the process, but you HAVE TO DO THE FINAL TUNING BY EAR. What this program does can only be described as a quantum leap in piano technology. It measures inharmonicity of every note and uses a newly discovered mathematical relation to spectral disorder to develop a custom deviation to every note to minimize mathematical disorder. If you are not a piano tech, you wouldn't even understand 1% of this. This app is NOT for amateurs.

Y70%
by Y####:

Absolutely useless. Can't record my very out of tune piano because it doesn't allow me to set the key and record an out of tune key. What's the point of this app then?

N70%
by N####:

The desktop version is a lifesaver, and the mobile app does everything it can with limited quality mics on my phone.

Hard to understand the app

I only have piano that goes D1 to A7 and it has instruments

Awesome app!

Interesting concept but using its visual tuner to tune accurately and precisely was impossible. I also couldn't find the source for this supposedly open source program. I ended up tuning the middle octave of my piano to a function generator app and doing the rest by ear which turned out fine.

I70%
by I####:

Ridiculously unintuitive. Still couldn't get a tune when following instructions - it just wasn't giving me a tune suggestion when supposed to according to the guide.

Z70%
by Z####:

Anyone who left bad reviews must just not know what they are doing. It's an amazing way to see the full note spectrum and even know the quality of the note the piano is projecting. Only problem I had was getting it to register the highest key. Thank you for creating such an awesome app to do this with. Sounds amazing. If you don't know how to tune one please don't download it and leave bad reviews because you couldn't figure it out. They deserve credit so give it to them.

my piano is extremely out of tune, about two keys off and the app's turn off auto detect feature did nothong for me. With auto detect on, it would detect a note a few keys off and then it would not allow me to record the audio for all of the keys. Good idea, but needs some fine TUNING. lol, but really i was hoping this would be better than it was

Z70%
by Z####:

I've just performed the best tuning I have ever done! The easy to use interface, showing all the necessary information for a good tuning, is really good. A few times the FFT stopped working, but after restart of the app it started working again.

Guys! Do you have any idea what they're trying to do with this app? Read up on the history and science behind it's design. There's a lot going on here, and they def deserve credit to say the least. It's fascinating how much you can learn about the sound and quality of each note, as well as tune it. As a super simple explanation - they're trying to replicate an aural tuning and the resultant curve. Genious! My only fear is they'll realize they've got something valuable here and start charging for it.

It's amazingly clever but totally impractical. Why would I need to record all the notes and see them on a graph. I just want to tune one string

Would be great, if it worked properly. Was unable to tune my upright piano with this app.

I'm trying to get my head around all the money this is going to save me and my church! I'm not a piano technician and tuning has always been cumbersome for me, but this app is fantastic!

M70%

This app crashed when I had less than an octave to record and I lost every thing! Of course I hadn't saved. I thought the instructions said to record then save. I'm not sure I will ever use this app again.
