About Mobile-RC
This application is the part of my degree work.
The phone is connected to my modified RC-car with USB cable.
The application has got both online and offline mode so it needs Internet access.
If the offline mode is active, the connected car can be controlled with the touch screen of the phone for testing purpose (and for fun).
If you choose the online mode, you have to specify the address of the server that contains the IP/host and the port. The connection is secured by SSL so you have to browse the CA, CRT and KEY files too. If the KEY file is secured, you have to give the password at bottom of the settings.
When the phone successfully connects to the server, controller clients can join to the car and they can request the control. The controller can play with the car and the others can watch it.
More car can connect to the server and the controllers can choose which is the car they want to use.
There are car-seperated chat rooms so people can talk eachother.
The server and the controller client are available for Windows, Linux and OS X on the github.
The application uses the IP Webcam application for MJPEG camera streaming.
This application can be downloaded from the Play Store and my application will offer it if you haven't downloaded it earlier.
You can use your mobile internet to connect to the server but I don't offer it because it could be expensive, rather start a local server and use your phone's WiFi.
Finally, you can test the application without a real car but it's not too funny.
