Associação Santa Terezinha

A Associação Santa Terezinha é uma organização civil, de natureza confessional e beneficente, sem fins econômicos e lucrativos, de caráter educacional, assistência social e direitos humanos. Foi fundada em 25 de agosto de 1923 e já desenvolveu serviços de acolhimento institucional, educação infantil, centro cultural e artístico, trabalho voluntário, estágio acadêmico e apoio ao desenvolvimento da família e da comunidade. Os serviços têm como premissa o atendimento na garantia da efetivação dos direitos da criança, do adolescente, do jovem e do idoso, e a convivência familiar e comunitária com base no Estatuto da Criança e Adolescente (Lei 8.069/90). Estatuto da Juventude (Lei 12.852/13). Estatuto do Idoso (Lei 10.741/03) e o Plano Nacional de Promoção. Proteção e Defesa do Direito da Criança e do Adolescente à convivência Familiar e Comunitária (Lei 12.010/09) e no Estatuto Social Institucional.

Na sua fundação àqueles que advinham de família com hanseníase (lepra) e hoje àquelas vítimas de negligência pessoal ou social. Esta organização social pautou-se pelo acolhimento e o atendimento educacional buscando reinserir as crianças nas suas famílias e comunidades de origem. Desde 1978 a Associação Santa Terezinha é administrada pelas Irmãs Filhas de Nossa Senhora Stella Maris. A Congregação Religiosa é um exemplo de vida e dedicação aos enfermos, idosos, crianças e adolescentes.
