About CalDAV-Sync

CalDAV-Sync is a CalDAV client for Android to synchronize events and tasks. Due to its implementation as sync adapter it integrates seamlessly with the native calendar app and widgets. Also check out CardDAV-Sync

To get task support, please install this task app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.tasks

Since version 0.4 CalDAV-Sync supports read-only sync of webcal ics feeds (via http & https).

Important note for Android 4.1 and Samsung users: To prevent the removal of your accounts on reboot install this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.jb.workaround.caldavsync
Although this issue seems to be fixed in Android 4.2 the workaround is still required on Samsung devices.

Please note that there is a new issue in Android 4.4: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=66905
It causes accounts to be removed when an app is updated. Installing the workaround app should help.

This app will create new calendars on your device (one for each calendar on your server account).

Please send me an email if you find a bug. Without detailed error description I often can't do anything especially when I can't reproduce it. It's also possible that your server has a bug that CalDAV-Sync can not (yet) tolerate or work around. If you report bugs I can fix them quickly and everyone will benefit.

It is tested and works with
- DAViCal
- SOGo
- Zimbra
- OSX/iCal Server
- eGroupware
- Oracle Beehive
- david.fx
- iCloud
- ownCloud
- many more, see http://dmfs.org/wiki/ for a list of all servers reported to work

Note to Yahoo!® users: Due to the many issues on Yahoo!'s servers, Yahoo! is no longer officially supported by this app.

Note to Free.fr users: Free.fr doesn't support CalDAV. However you should be able to sync your free.fr calendar one-way using the Webcal option.

After the installation got to "Settings" > "Accounts & Sync" and create a new Account.

If there is no calendar installed on your device, go to my website and install CalendarProvider.apk and Calendar.apk (FroYo and Gingerbread only)

Once this app reaches version 1.0, I'll make it open source.
See http://dmfs.org/wiki/index.php?title=Open_source_status for details on the open source status.

Works great with iCloud

This has worked flawlessly for me syncing my ownCloud calendar

This is one of the first apps I install on a new phone ;-)

Highly recommend, better than another app I also purchased. Problem free. Works well with my Synology server.

Q70%
by Q####:

Doesn't work with NextCloud 12.0.0 , no support from developer via Twitter. Changed over to DavDroid what works flawless

Q70%
by Q####:

It is unfortunate that with all the resources Google has at their disposal, they still cannot justify adding support for the Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV ("CalDAV") Internet Standard... But this is where CalDAV-Sync comes in. Not only does CalDAV-Sync fill an un-necessasary void, but the application looks great and thus far, has worked flawlessly for me. If you're an Android user and you need support for CalDAV, then look no further than CalDAV-Sync!

Does exactly what's it's designed to do.

This application installed and integrated flawlessly with my Android phone. Very easy set up, and wonderful application. Also it always pay to 'buy' an application to support those developers who want to develop new, innovative and improved apps. I see this developer updates this app routinely.

Q70%
by Q####:

After an app or system update, I now keep getting a popup error message stating "CalDAV-Sync keeps stopping" randomly and frequently (15-60 seconds) :-( This has been a critical app for me for quite a while now but I'm very disappointed in it's stability as of late.

Q70%
by Q####:

This was, until recently, an excellent product. However, a recent change to the SSL cert used by my Baïkal CalDAV server exposed some serious problems. I can no longer connect to the server, even after removing and reinstalling the app and recreating the connection account. This may or may not be the fault of CalDAV-Sync (my Mac desktop apps have no trouble connecting), but the trouble is, the debugging messages don't describe anything useful about the SSL connection, so there's no way for me to tell. I can hope that the developer can expose more of this info in the debug log, but in the meantime, I'm forced to find a different product, as this has completely cut off my calendar and task lists.

I have yet to experiance any errors in 2-way syncing, so this and it's sibling CardDAV-sync is a perfect solution to the missing CalDAV/CardDAV provider in Android.

This was working great then stopped syncing automatically recently on one device. Tried uninstall. Perhaps android 7 issue.

No longer syncs automatically. I have to manually sync the calendar.

Q70%

Automatic sync stopped working. Makes this kind of useless. Android Oreo.

Buggy: Once I set up an account and try to edit this calendar again the app is simply closing. So I can't edit this calendar anymore. (Android V 7.0)

Since one of the last updates I have no chance to change the color of an calendar. It seems that no colorpicker is integrated.

Gantastic app, but most importantly supported by the developers, when systems are updated, it's not long before an update is released, app makes working with Apple / icloud outside of apple possible and simple

Have been using tis app w Zimbra servers for years, but autosync stopped working recently on several devices. No support reply in a week :-(

Update: The recent update has fixed its operation with Apple iCal Server. Now it's back to being the best sync for my phone & tablet directly to our iCal Server. Config was easy, just enter hostname & port (8443) and it started syncing straight off. Thanks Marten for tasks / to-do's support.

Update Jan 2018: Synchronisation does not work anymore after update to Android 8.1.0. Support only answered once. No response since three weeks now. Very disappointed. Original review: Bereits sehr stabil!Toller Support und ständige Weiterentwicklung! Läuft hier hauptsächlich mit DAViCal.

Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to sync my work owncloud calendar to the standard Samung Calendar. After lots of googling and trying other stuff out, I found this and it worked straight away. Great app. Thank you.

Loved app for a long while as it flawlessly worked w my aol calendars. However, since the last update on 6/27 (or possibly later) calendars stopped syncing & no entries now appear for present or any past months. I am running android 4.4.2 on my samsung galaxy S4. Would love some support.

Q70%

So far so good. It works great with our Owncloud server and my Galaxy S7 Edge. Update: It does not sync on its own I have to do it manually. I contacted tech support twice and they didn't give me any answer. Definitely not happy about it.

I've been searching and tried various free apps that would sync my Yahoo calendar to a calendar app that I use and none of them worked, except this app. It's not free, but for a few bucks, I guess it's worth the money. And it seems to work well so far. Initial steps to set may have been bit confusing as I go to Yahoo site to confirm something then I found the settings that I expected. I'm happy with this app for now, but I shall see how it performs in next few weeks.

by Z####:

Nice little app. I verified it works without an active Internet connection. The initial sync can really stretch out, but my patience was rewarded. Marten responded to an issue I was having with my local network. Update: Have been using for a year or so, now and it's doing the job. A really nice enhancement would be taking some of the steps out of syncing an account. I'm not sure whether it's this app or the one for contacts (CardDAV-Sync) which makes me navigate through 20 or 30 pages to do a sync.

Does what it should do. Allows me to avoid google/microsoft clouds and it works on all platforms, also on linux. Sometimes thr ui id not really clear about what different options do. Documentation could be better. But thats really the only things.

TURN OFF POWER SAVING! Doesn't sync Events themselves ( picks up calendars, just no content ) when syncing from Mac Calendar Server to Samsung S7 UNLESS you turn off power saving. I spent all day on this and was about to switch to DAVdroid then saw a comment suggesting that Power saving was the problem. Menus & inteface could be improved.

M70%
by M####:

When it works, it's great... but sadly, on the Nexus 5X at least, it has problems. Todo items never sync, even with OpenTasks installed. Trying to open the calendar sync selection dialog in the CalDAV-Sync app causes it to force close. Support is completely unresponsive, I attempted to contact them and only got automated responses, never got an actual response. The developer doesn't have a public bugtracker either, so I have no idea if there are any workarounds or if any of this is a known issue or not.

Hello It does not work anymore on Galaxy S6 with Andorid 6.0.1 update. Very annoying. SOLVED !!! UPDATE !!! In Power Save Mode you must turn off the CalDAV application in "App Power Saving" settings and after this it is working !
