DeaDBeeF Player for Android
I use the old version of the player, I hate the UI of the new version. Today, old version throws a pop-up directing me to the new app. I click "no", and all my playlists are gone. Time to find a new player, cannot trust the author to not have likewise sabotaged the new version.
I use the Linux desktop version of deadbeef and it works great. But the Android version sometimes determines a song duration wrongly (about half the real duration). This makes the app unusable.
Like others have stated, the app couldn't find my music files. Maybe it's a Nougat issue. I'll try it again if/when this is corrected.
isn't this to play your music? can't even find my music with this app. made a music list with the app, but that too shows no music
Unable to select music folder. Nougat issue?
Please improve the widget, make it flat and usable on the lock screen. Many music widget can do this easily, but DeaDBeeF widget is not.
A stupid app. Wasted my time. Uninstalling
This app won't see the music files on my phone (or even the directory structure). I'm running Android 8.0 on a Pixel XL
Good app. Missing certain important functions like, search music in the phone.
It doesn't see my Music!!!
No songs found...
Best App to listen to flac quality music.
Program works tolerably but interface is horrendously primitive It plays e.g. FLAC/CUE perfectly well... If you can find them on your phone's storage, at least. Browsing for it is a painful experience.
Doesn't work anymore. I downloaded this recently after flashing marshmallow. Doesn't show any files. Please look into it!
I would upgrade, but I don't want to have it nagging me to switch to your new app.
Perfect player, but since i changed my phone it starts to glitch when music is playing. Meizu m2
I had one large FLAC file (an entire album) with no way to jump to certain songs, but then I noticed I also had .cue files, so I needed a player that supported .cue. This player does, it's exactly what I needed. 5 stars. (If anyone needs to know how to get to your sd card, just press the folder button in the bottom right, then press the folder at top with the 2 dots to go to the previous directories, until you see "sdcard". The exact path, for me, was /storage/sdcard1)
Just started using this player and I'm really liking it! Only three wishes for improvement: 1) Make the playlists themselves sortable, drag & drop preferably. 2) Lock screen handling: play/pause/previous/next/in-track searchbar. 3) Drag & drop within longer playlists gets difficult when going up or down 20 tracks... Maybe an option to select & drop would be easier. But besides these points I just have to congratulate the creator of this app! Amazing work!
Needs ability to pause on lockscreen and notifications, don't like having to open player when need to pause quickly. Also needs smb and upnp. Otherwise the best. 4 stars only because i cannot queue songs. If more features were added, could easily surpass other players.
This meet all my requirements of a media player, except that it sends nothing to Bluetooth player... in fact, it is probably not recognized as a media player by Android as other media app (like YouTube) show up in the Bluetooth player while deedbeaf is playing...
For some reason this app can't read album art from files, the notification has no controls on it, just opens the player and the settings menu is extremely limited in options. To make matters worse this app hasn't been updated in almost 10 months. Too bad because it's the only player that is smart enough to reduce it's process down to 10% when the app is closed, unlike others that keep running at 100% forever.
Fix this and I'll buy the pro key and 5 star the app: When a call comes in, the player does not mute or pause. I have to do it manually when I get a call. Other than that, excellent simple player that just works.
Android 4.4, since the most recent deadbeef update it loads and starts playing everytime I reboot my phone. Can't figure why. :-/ This app also exposes the known problem with Bluetooth AVRCP, with more than one media player installed it's a crapshoot which one will respond, or whether a race condition will prevent any from working.
I have tried dozens of players. I used free, I bought paid. Now this player is the only survivor after two (or three) years on different devices and manifold systems, on stock and unofficial. Just one feature I miss: I'd like to see mp3 tags. Something like button "Show lyrics". That's why four stars instead five.
I use deadbeef on my Debian and had to have it for my tablet. Developer did an incredible job on this app. Try this app and you'll have no regrets.
Gapless playback seems to better than the other players. One thing I'd wish for is more formats.
I've been using this app for a long time. This is by far the best music app out there!!! Especially the LCD style I just love it!!!! looks great!!!! keep improving, I'm a big fan!
Often stutters every few seconds on my Oneplus X. No matter what type of file I'm playing (mp3, flac etc.).
Perfect player, but since i changed my phone it starts to glitch when music is playing. Meizu m2
Is a simple player..... But, sound quality is great..... Excellent..... Good for audiophile.... Thanks and I dont like this,,,, but I very very like this music player
Thanks for free Android version, Alexey! I'm using it on Linux, too. (Slackware64 & Puppy) Best audio player. Period.
I still love this player, but it could really use some proper lockscreen controls on Lollipop and later.
on cuesheet, album art embedded flac files. Uninstall. Installed Foobar 2000, everything just works.
Doesn't play AAC or some long mp3s, even with the plug in pack.
No matter how many times I try I can't add music. What's the point???
Crashes on every start.
Заикается на mp3
should have a library !
It plays flac

EDIT: Even without the suggested improvements below, I'm liking this much better than DDB2! Interface, gapless play (!), and sorting lists are all much more to my liking. Still hoping for an update that includes following suggestions... Previous review: Just started using this player and I'm really liking it! Only three wishes for improvement: 1) Make the playlists themselves sortable, drag & drop preferably. 2) Lock screen handling: play/pause/previous/next/in-track searchbar. 3) Drag & drop within longer playlists gets difficult when going up or down 20 tracks...
