The John F. Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. is the nation’s premier performing arts center as well as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy. This historic and artistic tour offers a look back at the Center’s beginnings in the Eisenhower administration, its dedication as a memorial to President Kennedy, its opening night on September 8, 1971, a walk through its grand halls and theaters, a retrospective of more than 40 years of performances, highlights of the Center’s nationwide arts education programs, and a peek at the future expansion of the Center’s campus.
