FLUP-DHEritage

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto brings to the public a set of virtual exhibitions that are the result of the work of students from the various degrees of studies in History of Art.
The exhibitions’ concept and its design were defined in several ways: by teachers and students resulting in a global project (e.g. Porto World Heritage); by a group of students that fulfill the demands of a course’s research work (e.g. Bell Traditions and Bobbin Lace); and as a Master’s final project (e.g. Afurada).
The production of these exhibitions gives origin to rewarding pedagogical experiences to students, responsible for the images’ authorship, for the writing of texts and exhibition’s script, and also to teachers, who are responsible for the scientific revision and curatorial work. This exhibitions become an exploratory instrument of research methodologies that, being applied to practical purposes, enhance the students’ involvement.
One of the major motivations for this project has been the ability to create cultural products in a pedagogical context, as well as the chance to disseminate the scientific knowledge produced regarding Portuguese heritage.
