About CANVAS
CANVAS (http://www.canvas.ph) stands for The Center for Art, New Ventures and Sustainable Development. We settled on the acronym before coming up with what it stood for. CANVAS was conceived sometime in October 2004 and born on June 13, 2005 with the launch of “Elias and His Trees”. CANVAS has been known for its three major projects: The Romeo Forbes Story Writing Competition, Looking for Juan Outdoor Banner Project, and TEDxDiliman. Exhibits showcased in this Google application came from both the story writing competition and the outdoor banner project. CANVAS also organizes public art exhibitions, produces merchandise, and participates in art fairs. CANVAS’ main campaign is the One Million Books for One Million Filipino Children that the organization envisions to fulfil by the next five years.
