What are users saying about CSA Group Reader

Not very user friendly to navigate through on a mobile device. Really dislike the fact I need to access it from CSA's website everyone. Some nice features for code book reading though. Overall good start but definitely needs refining.

by R####:

The search engine barely works and takes forever. Navigating the book is slow. I had a digital copy of the previous edition of the code that ran on pdf and it works a million times better than this crappy app. Don't waste your money and buy a physical version or find a pdf version.

by R####:

You would think for $250 a shot you could make an app that works smoothly. This reader is slooooow! I have a quad core cpu and 3GB of Ram, one of the best phones on the market in the last year and this app is barely usable. Search? Yeah, right! Enter the search term (if it doesn't hang) and then go make dinner while you wait. If I didn't have to wait for a 200mb file to download before testing it this would 100% for sure be uni n stalled for refund.

What a total waste of money! Book is way better, i loved the idea and have now spent over $500 for thw same thing twice (book and app) but the app is crap! Hopping for a huge update to make this work properly.

R70%
by R####:

Very expensive. Doesn't work most of the time and crashes a lot. Every time I need to look for code rules it doesn't connect or it takes forever to load.

R70%
by R####:

Slow and unresponsive a lot of the time. Much prefer to pdf documents

C70%
by C####:

If I could have given this 0 stars, I would have. Slow, laggy, and crashes all the time. I've resorted to using their website version instead.

R70%
by R####:

High price app that doesn't run smoothly. I bought this app to complement my PDF code book when I'm on the go...it's more frustrating then it's worth

R70%
by R####:

It is a great idea but definitely not worth the money. It's very slow and difficult to navigate through sections.

This doesn't work on my Samsung Galaxy s5. Keeps crashing every single time. Never was able to open the electrical code book.

R70%
by R####:

Who ever thought using a slow interface to search for relevant information instead of using something that works eg PDF Document or downloading the doc to search effortlessly and quickly.

W70%
by W####:

Every time I click on the standard that I have downloaded the reader crashes.

R70%

Wish I had known before I spent the money.

The app is fine if you have cellular signal. However, I need my books available while offline.

Such a good idea, and would be worth the extra investment if it worked properly. Instead you have a search that doesn't do much, and a system that will go to any link you swipe over while trying to change pages. Making navigating frustrating and sometimes impossible.

K70%
by K####:

I love the concept. I also have the pdf version of the code book and that is substantially better and cheaper. The interactive version is horribly slow and therefore useless in my opinion. But if you have 5 min to allow a page to load and If you don't mind that you can't do continuous scrolling and if you don't mind paying double the price of the pdf version that has a better search tool then this is the right book for you.

First thing I tried would not work. Voltage Drop calculator would not accept inputs. My Apple devices are working well

K70%
by K####:

Very slow, keeps freezing search option totally useless, get the book !!

K70%
by K####:

This app is expensive and almost useless in the real world. I thought I could save time by using this, but between being hard to read due to poor formatting and the constant crashes, I wish I could get my money back. Should have bought the book instead. Stay away!

K70%
by K####:

While I'm sure many features are handy, the slowness and general bugginess is annoying. Just buy your documents as PDF, at least then you have options. I wish I could rate this lower than one.

K70%
by K####:

The book will not open on Nexus 6 with Android 6.

K70%
by K####:

This app is the worst ereader app on the market. Bought the 2015 OESC and can not make sense of anything. Search option is a joke as is trying to navigate through the book. Very slow in responses. This app needs a major rework. IMO. Buy the paper version and stay away unless you can use a different ereader.

After deleting or shutting off all the factory installed apps on my Acer tablet the readers worked perfectly. Android has caught up with Microsoft in the Bloatware category.

K70%

I wait 30 Seconds for a page to load after clicking on the table of contents, if you make a mistake on one of their calculators you have to start all over again, it's slow as hell. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL

K70%
by K####:

App will not work for the last few days, loaded the cec book on it and won't open it!

K70%
by K####:

App is buggy, crashes continuously. Needs to connect to server to work, semi useless for trades in the field. Buy the book until they can make a decent app that's stable and where the content is viewable offline.

Q70%
by Q####:

very poorly made app. keeps crashing and have to restart device to get it to open again...just buy the pdf

K70%
by K####:

Poor performance with the electrical code app cranes and or runs slow. App is difficult to navigate around. Was a disappointment as it costs substantial more then the print version. Not recommend!

Nice app but missing some info compared to real code. Ex tables 1,2,3,4, in real code book show insulation types on the top of table this one doesn't and tables 6 are deleted don't know why...

Not worth what I paid. . It won't load most of the sections.. junk
