PastoralCare for Android
After more than a year of non-functioning, it works again. And thanks for fixing it do it works in one column.
Thank you! Works great.
I love having the electronic version of the pastoral care companion. There are a few glitches that I'm going I'll still be able to work through, though. In the "resources" for example, taping on a Bible passage brings up a blank screen instead of the passage. Like I said, hoping to get it figured out.
This app used to work well on my S3, but since upgrading to a Note 4 I am unable to see any of the Psalms and other readings. I press the link and a blank page opens up.
The links to Scripture passages all come up with a blank page. Even after a factory reset. Is this a problem with the Lollipop OS? Please fix it.
It's depressing to see the current state of digital development at cph. This app is unreliable, and looks and functions dated. I can't possibly imagine using this in a service, where I am relying on it to work. Scripture references do not always work when clicked on. Navigation has not been thought out. It's embarrassing to the LCMS.
As far as I can tell, it contains everything that's in the book Pastoral Care Companion from CPH. And it's easy to use.
This application is very helpful and does contain some great resources. The main drawbacks are ease of in app navigation (a search function would help) and the price. I understand the value vs. the print edition but it is still rather expensive. Perhaps some of that money could go to making all of the resources included more easily accessible (psalms for instance). I also have not seen the commentaries mentioned in the description, I'm sure they are there but again navigation needs to be improved.
The rites and resources are what I expected, but are currently in a multiple column format with columns to tall for the height of the screen and with no snap feature between them, so you have to clumsily scroll up and down and side to side to side to maneuver through it, which makes it impossible to use in an actual pastoral care setting. Quite a disappointment, especially considering the price. UPDATE: It is single column on phone, so why not on tablet? Also, some brackets would be helpful in the prayers.
....it's not just for Pastors.
Great job in designing this. Better than the physical book with more resources.
Hated to see such a great app get such a low rating. It's the Pastoral Care Companion on your phone, plus all the propers. Works great, even in ICS. One suggestion: allow a sort by number (or at least by section) for the hymns. Pastors don't think of hymns alphabetically.
I have an ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T. It is not able to be added. Please update quickly. This is a much needed resource and one of the reasons I got a tablet.
Too many prayers for the dead, need more prayers for the living. And app too expensive. NO FONT ADJUSTMENT. App very dry in black and white
This is very excellent what i am looking for so found it at last. Many thanks. Diane f c
I have made use of this app on many occasions in various settings. Thank you for updating it to work with ICS. Keep up the good work. How about a complete LSB app?

Easier than carrying all those books to the hospital. Hated to see such a great app get such a low rating. It's the Pastoral Care Companion on your phone, plus all the propers. Not compatible with all platforms I have an ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T. It is not able to be added. Please update quickly. This is a much needed resource and one of the reasons I got a tablet.

Good app, but needs to be a bit more user friendly. For instance, I can add bookmarks, but can't see any way to remove them if I need to. Also, if possible, because I use this app to set up sermons (especially when I'm travelling) it would be nice to be able to flag readings or portions of readings that I'd like to use as my texts for any given Sunday (perhaps assign a year stamp or color code so that I could differentiate between archival and current information).
