I've been using this app for years. One of the first things I reinstall with each new phone.

1)needs landscape mode 2)using nano with this causes glitches

Huge visual improvement (other 1.9.1 issues solved: page up/down, network state discovery)

R70%

Love this, but is there any way to re-enable swiping to page up/down? That was a feature I really liked.

The cursor location is wrong. Could not rename private key. confusing.

R70%
by R####:

Basic features, including screen rotation handling, don't work. Keyboard is less than intuitive. The app could use some TLC.

R70%
by R####:

The only Android OpenSSH client that supports Ed25519 keys. The keyboard is probably better in JuiceSSH (specially the CTRL and TAB keys), but ConnectBot has more features and supports a wider range of ciphers. Excellent!

edit: when i touch the screen to bring up the buttons bar the screen scrolls down by one or two lines hiding the content. we had this issue before. pls fix again. thanks.

This is my go to client that has always done everything I need. Suddenly the screen stays behind the keyboard when it pops up though. Hoping that is fixed soon.

The last update broke copy/paste for me, making the app unusable for me

R70%
by R####:

Loved it to death until I needed private key support. Doesn't seem to allow me to unlock key interactively, not leaving the key unlocked. Oh well.

R70%
by R####:

Why did you remove the quick address bar on the homescreen? I hate having to add hosts each time.

R70%
by R####:

A fantastic, reliable and usable SSH client for Android. The only feature I wish it had was the ability to scp/sftp files. Otherwise, a perfect secure shell client. I use it extensively when roaming and need to link back and manage a variety of Linux servers I maintain.

R70%
by R####:

the app is good whenever changing ssh connection to landscape mode also change my hole device to landscape mode even after close the app I need restart my phone to change back to portrait, after fixing that sure I'll give the 5 stars.

L70%
by L####:

The bottom keys bar should be configurable e.g TAB key is missing. Clipboard select is not working after changing screen to landscape. This app is working good, but it's not yet perfect.

C70%
by C####:

A very good remote terminal connection application. No ads or anything annoying. If an sftp functionality is also added, it will be very useful.

J70%

Great console app. Lots of connect options (telnet, SSH, local). If you need to issue some quick command to your servers or network equipments this will do the trick. Also has post login commands which makes launching scripts a breeze.

M70%

The line with ctrl etc is not readable on top of two lines of pine help strings. Can it be made opaque? Looking for small replacement for "ssh client" which no longer connects to sdf.

Y70%

great apps for network engineer. please add feature to backup host list with google account so we dont need to readd hosts everytime im changing my phone

R70%
by R####:

Works perfect. Neat UI. Just one disadvantage. The color picker is not very intuitive. Should have used just sliders or included an option to input hex code directly.

R70%
by R####:

A very nice tool. The only thing is it's showing some telnet hosts as "never connected", but I did connect to them. Otherwise it's a great tool.

R70%

some reason it hangs after enter password on my Alcatel phone. not sure it's version thing as it was worked well at my other device

Y70%
by Y####:

Very useful for telnet activity. Easy to use. The screen doesn't quite display as well as it would on a computer, but it is excellent if you need to use telnet and can't get to a computer in time.

Worked fine on my Verizon S6 since day one of owning it, random update, now it crashes & nothing seems to fix it. Age old lesson, and if it ain't broke don't fix it!

R70%
by R####:

Great app that does what it needs to. Only minor niggle is that my software keyboard keeps switching to initial capitals every time I tap the screen for the control and arrow key buttons.

K70%
by K####:

I got rid of JuiceSSH after privacy issues were raised so looking for a different app. Found that to enter commands requires multiple keystrokes. Worse is passwords are displayed and asked to enter into dictionary. This is very, very bad. Some remote apps refuse to work do to this procedure. Couldn't use some normal tools as I couldn't enter single letter options.

R70%
by R####:

This used to work better, seems like its getting worse (as is android). Copy and paste buggy, scrolling buggy, landscape to portrait mode buggy, keyboard covers terminal buggy. I gave the old version 5 stars, but its been a number of years and no improvement on these basic features.

I have used this app for years, but some of the changes you have made recently just don't make sense. JuiceSSH works much better. I use Dyndns with pinhole ports through my router, my home Linux systems can be accessed either on a 192.168.1.x IP address on my home network or using an uncommon port on the Internet IP address of the router using PNAT to the correct SSH server. In my Connectbot, each server has two entries, one with its internal IP and the other with its Dyndns address. The icon functionality used to make some sense but now it does not. If you accessed a server successfully once before, it used to give a green tick by the server name, not it's a red exclamation mark. If a server hasn't been accessed for two days, it didn't used to matter on previous versions, the green tick would be there to show the last access worked. Now you get a "No Entry" sign, which makes no sense. I also have a problem on my old Nexus 7 tablet on Android 4.3 where when I try to import keys that are in the internal storage, it goes straight to Amazon Drive to try to find the keys with no option to go back to the find them on the local device. It seems to be a backwards step.

R70%
by R####:

It's a decent SSH client overall. There is one problem though: Using Nano over SSH results in text errors. I'm sure it will be fixed so 4 stars.

This is a WOW...free no ads working perfectly apps...And most of all it works great connecting via telnet. I used it with an Android phone and Bluetooth barcode scanner to replace big old symbol barcode scanner guns. This a great tool. Thanks so much to the developers. Cheers - Leandro

Does what you expect andfits my needs for a console ssh client. One annoyance on the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet is that editing a host is not usable; the original configuration screen doesn't show up and what does is utterly garbled. I ended up deleting my host configurations and recreating them.

R70%
by R####:

App used to work well but progressively got worse. None of my servers display text correctly if at all when connected. *** EDIT *** Turns out that the settings where corrupted probably because a Google cloud backup restore of data from another device. Deleted app data, re-added hosts and I can now see text again. Would have been nice to be contacted by dev about the issue though

Potentially the best app Google Play has seen. With a rating of 4.6/5 over 41000+ ratings it must be good. As a server admin I've used Putty for years and lives in my system32 folder. I must say, this is fabulous going mobile. I'm perfectionistic and one feature I'm missing is being able to locate RSA keys in folders other than the Android 6.0 downloads folder. Please also provide me with assisstance linking Puttygen RSA keys as it tells me its erroneous. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up.

Very useful, works almost as described. Time since last use doesn't work properly on latest version, a very minor inconvenience. The new copy-and-paste tool, while aspirational in design, does not work at all. The region definition cursors do not follow my touch (Samsung Galaxy 4, v4.4.4). Please fix this so I can rate five stars for what is otherwise a great app! Thank you!

R70%

Simple app that does everything it promises. Even "Ctrl" functions, which some complained about, worked flawlessly. The post-login automation is really useful. And the best part is that it's a free app with no ads/in-app purchases. The only thing that could be added is support for landscape mode, for example when I want to view a database with multiple columns.

T70%
by T####:

Just had to refresh my rating, this app is amazing, it's rock solid, and does everything you want with SSH, even tunneling. The keyboard has improved over the years, and is ultimate! Now that the arrow and ctrl keys remain present for multi presses, for touch only keyboards, it makes navigating around the screen simply and easy. Well done for the years of free access to simply the best SSH app on Play!
