This would be a perfect app if it did not fill up the queue constantly with podcasts I did not request from my subscriptions. I have turned the automated features off in the settings, but it still fills the queue. Please fix this!

Should bring it up to current Android SDK.

Works very well. Gpodder sync is seamless.

S70%

This is a pretty good pod catcher, but causes weird screen issues (blinking and black screen after wake up) and CPU revving ("hot pocket ") when running on Marshmallow.

Excellent replacement for Google Listen. It just works and the developer is keen to make this the best podcast app out there.

If you are a Google Reader person, this app makes a lot of sense. Picks up where the original Google Listen Android app left off and improves upon it. Am glad to support the developer on this.

App worked fine when I installed it. I use it daily. I recently tried to add a new feed and couldn't, and am unable contact the developer. Email auto rejects back to me. Not sure what to do. Maybe a negative review will get their attention.

N70%

If you are using gPodder, this is the simpler podcast app you can find. Gets the job done and that is all I need. I cant get what are the differences with the free version, but I paid anyway.

N70%

I only wish there was an easier way to remove lots of items from my queue.

Used to be 5 stars but lately it takes forever to load every time I open the app. Please fix the redraw times.

My requirements: 1. add subscriptions 2. auto download 3. auto enqueue 4. auto dequeue/delete once played 5. simple interface I tried BeyondPod, Listen, AntennaPod, Podcast Addict, PodKicker; none seemed quite right, were overly-complex, or not auto enough. Features I really like about Listen Up are resume playback of any of the items, and the 30 sec skip. The only thing that I miss from some of the other podcatchers is variable play speed.

Best replacement for Listen that I've found. I do have a few suggestions/questions: 1 -- When playing an episode put the control panel (e.g. the play, fastforward, etc. buttons) at the bottom. I have to back out a few levels to find them. 2 -- Is there a panel that shows the most recent episodes across all podcasts? 3 -- It should pause when an event notification (e.g. driving directions) is being played. Right now the notification just mixes in.

..since the demise of Google listen I have been searching for an app that works as well. Finally and so simple if you cannot find the podcast your looking for simply paste rss feed address into search and it finds you are subscribed.

H70%
by H####:

Best podcast player out there. The only thing I would like to see being implemented in the app is to have the possibility to change text size. Perhaps the player buttons could be tweaked a bit, they're not that good looking, but they work flawless! Thanks for a great app. Update: what have you done? It can't even update the feeds anymore!!

Finally, a *real* replacement for Google Listen. I've tried lots of other podcast apps but none of them worked well for how I want to listen to podcasts. Listen Up fits my usage really well. I got the free version to check out the app and quickly came back to give the developer a buck for the paid version. Absolutely worth it even if the versions are identical. Keep up the good work.

Amputating itself from the "also defunct" Reader Serivce is about the only feature I'd want added.

I really love the ease of use provided by Listen Up. With the news of Google Reader going by the wayside I hope that the author can save this app so that we can all continue enjoy using it.

This app is awesome! I'm so glad I found it. I bought the paid version just to throw them the dollar without having tried the free version, and it's definitely worth more than that. The app is beautiful, elegant, and keeps the spirit of Google Listen alive while modernizing it to the newer Android design guidelines. Using this app is a joy! Great work!

Really feels like what the update to Google Listen should have been. Needs a little UI cleanup, specifically the playback controls and file management IMO but otherwise a really great app.

Since Feedly also integrates with Google Reader I can now add a podcast feed from my phone, home, and work computer and it instantly loads into Listen Up. Do wish there was a way to toggle between continuous play and playing only one podcast at a time but that's a small quibble.

P70%

A great evolution of the Listen app. Great use of the design guidelines and Holo theme. However, updates are a bit slow and wonky and the app needs album art on the lockscreen and integrated into expandable notifications. Also holo dark theme and lower profile play controls would be nice. Purchased the paid edition in the hope that the dev keeps up support.
