About SpeckSensor
The SpeckSensor app reports air quality from locations based off of federal sensors and also reports the air quality measured from your indoor Speck devices.
The Speck (www.specksensor.com) is an air quality monitor that detects fine particulate matter in your indoor environment and informs you about trends and changes in particle concentration. At its core, Speck is about empowerment, enabling you to make informed decisions about how to improve your air quality. Data collected with Speck belongs to you, its user, and you have the power to decide how to apply that information and take action to breathe easier!
Speck is a product of Airviz Inc., which is a spinoff from the CREATE Lab at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute. Speck is manufactured under license from Carnegie Mellon University.
PERMISSIONS USED
-Location: Location services are enabled in the application by default to find air quality stations near the user. This can be disabled in the settings if location services are not desired.
-Photos/Media/Files: The application only uses this permission to store the cities that the user adds to their list of cities as well as to store user settings/preferences.
-Other: Other permissions that might be listed on the playstore are "full network access" and "view network connections." This is used by the application to grab sensor information from the Internet to be displayed.

Sadly, it looks like that although the app is available outside of the USA, the data isn't. So pretty much a waste of time unless you live in North America. Pity it isn't mentioned in the description.
