Very simple and basic app. It gives the general info you might want while on one of the BOCO maintained trails. While it is by no means a comprehensive mapping tool, it is definitely adequate for most casual users.

Drop pins; no show /hide toggle. I spent 20 minutes adding pins to Google maps because it can be used offline. Google maps has more functions, information, and I uninstalled this Frankenstein app. I'm referring to the scientist not the creation. All I did was Argg and Raar with this app. I agree with the other reviewers that it needs some "polishing". Feels like it was an interns project that they went live with before it was finished. Thanks for the attempt and I hope you can handle constructive criticism. I look forward to future updates.

It includes only the trails that Boulder County is responsible for. That's to be expected, but it ignores the rich networks at Boulder Mountain Park, Boulder Valley Ranch, and so on. Collaboration between the city and the county would make this a much more useful app.

Why can't we have an app that the county and city can get together and give good information on all the trails in the area. City of Boulder trails are lightly dotted, but no trail heads or conditions. My tax dollars should go to organizations that can work together!!!!!!!

I agree with the other criticisms and won't repeat them. Instead, I'll add that I could not get the caching to work. While on WiFi I browsed one of the trails to load it into memory. Then when I got there (the Ceran St Vrain trail, which has no cell service), I fired up the app. Not only did it not bring the screen back to its previous state (it defaulted to the county-wide view), it didn't remember any of the cached data. An app for BC trails would be welcome but there's a lot of work remaining to make this app useful. So sorry.

It's a decent way to access the basic info on the go, but the map doesn't show tracks, only pins, so it's particularly hard to get a sense of how trails interconnect. Performance is a little rough too.

by Y####:

Pinch/zooming is awkward, clumsy: display scales while fingers zoom/pinch, but then snaps to some other scale when released; disconcerting. (:-( (Google Maps app, of course, works as expected.) Missing map view data: iOS app has Holmberg Preserve parking and 3 trails, Harney/Lastoka parking and trail. Update: Holmberg data subsequently appeared out of the blue; unnerving. (:-( (Harney missing from list view, too.) Trail length discrepancy between Android and iOS app: Mayhoffer/Singletree 1.5 mi. vs. 2.2, similar discrepancies w/Niwot Trail System. Other subtle inconsistencies between platform data also suspect (LoBo vs. Lobo).

Awesome app! I love the locate me function. It can really be helpful for trail rescues.
