Blitzortung Lightning Monitor

I don't know why this app completely overlooks parts of Asia, such as India. If you don't want to include India in Asia you should have a special category for India and its surrounding countries. No update or information when i manually zoom into my location too. Disappointed because it looks like a neat app but clearly omits big parts of the inhabited world.

Just doesn't work properly. The website is great, the app however picks up perhaps 1% of the activity shown there though, and unlike the site you have very little control over the settings. There are lots of web-wrappers on here, but this terrible app doesn't even go that far, absolutely awful, uninstalled.

Installed this on the 18july in England for a massive overnight storm. To start with the notifications came through great and then it completely stopped. I assume this was due to an outtage on your end Blitzortung? Today however we had some small lightning storms in our area and it worked perfectly. I hadn't had it for long enough to give it 5 stars, especially having an outtage the first day I download it, but that can happen to anyone and if it keeps going the way it did today, I will definitely change to a 5 star. I honestly think this will turn out to be a fantastic app for sferic detection. Blitzortung, can you confirm outtage on your side in the late hours of the 18th and early hours of the 19th July please?

Thank you! I dream of being struck by lightning. For years I've tried and failed. With this app I hope to finally realize my life long dream and feel that blitz.

What happened to my location/radar button? Plus button does nothing now. This app really need better UX designer. Complete UX rebuild.

I have the same storm in the same place for 2 weeks...(of course with internet connection) EDIT: After reinstalling app works good :). I don't know why but im glad taht's working now

Was ok. Now seems to be off line? Was also off line in the middle of a major lightning storm a few nights ago ☹

Not fit for purpose!!! Huge thunder/lightning storm in Mississippi where I'm working and this app didn't even know.

Thunder exists but no warning for Asia which has already been selected

No use if down in a storm of course. OK WHEN it is working. Prefer Netweather storm radar.

Plagues my device with "Could not connect" notification popups

It has stop working and only work when it wants to please fix it

Bizarrely it always stops working when there is an actual storm in the area ????

This is a very nice lightening tracker. I particularly like how it shows the timing of the strikes (>10, 20, 30 minutes etc.). Most apps will just show a strike happened at some point, but this will let you see where the current activity is happening. I live in south Florida, and it works great for me.

GREAT. Fills a gap. Most weather apps don't do lightning despite user concerns about vulnerable electronics getting fried. Those that do bury it in clutter and distract with ads. This app clearly shows lightning risk to help users know when rain only means no risk and no reason to unplug. The app is customizable. Wish: Animation to show recent trend.

Weather bug was able to show the lightning surrounding my house within 5 miles but this app showed lightning 105 miles away. I dont know why Weather Bug would have the data but not this app. I still have it installed and will continue to test it.

My only problem is that for some reason, it'll only notify me of lightning when I open the app. I set the background to refresh every 5 minutes and still, nothing, until I open the app. I'm trying to find a lightning monitor that will be the first to notify me of nearby lightning strikes in the region. If you guys can fix that, it will solve me need. Thanks

Essential for warning of incoming storms so that sensitive IT equipment can be protected. Storms here tend to blow DSL routers unless disconnected from the phone lines.

As a coach i need something that tells me where, how far, and the density of lightning storm. And in my early experience it has done so fantastically! I would give 5 starts if it had a link to a legend of what I'm actually looking at though. I get the basics...but for example, i don't guilt understand the 2 things in the lower corner(right = strikes per min but within what area? Left = a radius detector of some kind, but i don't understand to what distance? )

Its terrible, just terrible.

Once again I've had 3 lightning strikes in close proximity and despite having set the app to alert me within 25km I have no alerts from the app. I'm losing faith in this app as I rely on it for my dog who's frightened by storms. I'm close to binning this app completely as I can't trust it.

Works well. Alarm function is quite useful for me so I can shut down and unplug my servers and ground my antenna farm.

Had one right over me and did not detect it it said there was strikes 226km east of me waste of time to be honest

Total rubbish, does not work on my phone

The app works. However I wish there was directions as to what all symbols mean. The square color corresponds with time. But not sure what the number means.

I think alerts aren't working properly.

Under Nougat, it no longer shows the time of day in notifications.

Lighthing over head and all around yet showed nothing.

Couldn't figure it out. Lightning alarm is much easier to use.

Can't find location.
