World Bird Guide for Android
This was a promising APP But it has stopped working for Me. l live in Thailand and it was once really useful. not so Much now :c
App wont work for me. Cant get no further than the map screen, just says "please wait, this might take up to a minute"
It was an awesome app, but has stopped working completely. Keeps saying unable to connect. Cleaned up and installed but to no avail
Was great (5 star) but has stopped working: can't download bird data anymore and says it's an internet connection problem... which it is not.
No longer works. Can't load any birds or info. Just keeps spinning. When it worked properly it was a great app for knowing what you would find throughout the world
I unfortunately can't get this App to work on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. Continually says that it is loading.
Great app. Would give it 5 stars if you could link it to a wikipedia with your chosen language. e.g. Norwegian, Swedish and so on.
No longer connects to its server, so is now useless
Love the functionality, but the search radius is too large, and the bird thumbnail photos are too small and covered by too much text.
Just did not work. Waited ages and nothing downloaded that I could use. Will be uninstalling.
Doesn't connect to server uninstalling
Will no longer connect using later Android phones. Uninstalled.
Used to be great, but doesn't go beyond the map screen anyone.
I have no word. Thanks
No longer works
Doing nothing !! AGAIN !!
C'est super et formidable
No search by name
Not working
Anyone else using a Samsung Galaxy S5 and noticed it just says it's loading all the time? This was working fine for quite some time and now it's stopped working. It was awesome but I don't know now.
I may as well look up the birds on Google. This app literally takes Wikipedia articles and adds them to bird identifications, then calls it a description. For videos, it searches for the bird on YouTube and says, "Hey, you do the rest." It's just crap. I would rate 1 star, but people tend to read 2-star ratings more than 1-star ratings, so that's what I chose.
The app is good. However, the 50 km radius doesn't seem to be working outside US / NA. I am based in Mumbai, India, but the app shows the entire Maharashtra, India, which is closer to 500-600 km rather than 50. The last sighting dates also gives an erroneous idea about the rarity of the species. For example, last sightings of pigeons in Mumbai, India of pigeons are dated 2013. For someone new to the area, the hordes of pigeons seen every minute will seem like a remarkable resurgence of a species which has not been seen for the last 2 years! I would suggest the last sighting be removed for relatively numerous birds, or birds not under any endangered list. Also, improvement in geographical location would be great help. I would still give 4 stars to this app, the above two points resulting in dropping a star.
This is supposed to help you see what's been spotted nearby and when. The app doesn't show any spotting for any bird after August 30 2015.
And I only just installed it. So far so ok
It may only be links, but its all the links in one handy to use little app.. And thank thank thank you for making a free app for birds! So tired of exploitation hidden behind a well advertised name.
Blew me away. Superb app. providing local observations is something amazing !!
Found the bird I was looking for in first attempt, great app
Unless i click on each one. And it is very slow. Bird is gone before you can find the image.
On my Nexus 6 here in Iloilo, the app opens to a map ... And does nothing else.
Good app! Would be more interactive if I could upload species I spot in my region yet not listed by BBI as present there.
This app is a must have software if you are amature.... it covers the world you point area it shows all.... thanks developers for brilliant idea.
Brilliant
Good job
However, last seen dates not very recent (more than 6 months ago). Would be nice to have French & English names for the province of Quebec.
Very helpful
Love it
This app is very helpful when traveling, because birds are sorted by frequency of sightings in a specific area. Yesterday the app enabled me to immediately identify an unfamiliar warbler in Florida. Otherwise, I would have been searching through all the possibilities in the book. I look forward to using this on a Europe trip. I hope they enhance the app to include word searches and filtering by season. I wouldn't currently want it as my primary birding app, but it's a great supplemental tool.
Even having looked at local birds, a few minutes later I had no signal and tried again, but the app showed nothing beyond the map. If it would at least save what you've looked at, that would help.
Wow, very impressed with detailed info of one bird I tested. Only way can improve is to add songs / calls of the bird.
