Paragliding Altivario

Hi, I been using the app for a while now, almost a year, and is the best of the kind out there right now. I can easily help my self to center a thermic current, or just to check my speed. It does all right. There is only one problem, when it goes without antenna reception, which in my case its really often, the file date goes to GTM time zone, which makes a lot of troubles to download the files later into my computer. I'm based on New Zealand, so some time I need need to wait for 2 days to download the tracks.

Good toy but NOT a replacement for dedicated altimeter-vario-gps unit for paraglider/hang glider pilots. The programming is good, The layout is Fine. This app is good for kids to play with in an elevator. Good altimeter and speedometer BUT I ran it side by side with a Flytec and FlyMaster and this app fails in sensitivity and precision needed for real flying. I tested it in flight and with car rides up and down some hills. This app's vario lags, always. Often beeps false "up" when I know that the road is flat and real vario units stay quiet. Sure... One can probably pair it with external Baro-sensor but that increases price and complexity to the point of little practical use... Compass and wind direction and speed features lag/fail too. Not to mention the vario sound is too quiet even on loudest settings. PLEASE, for real flying Just get a real vario-gps unit (you can get one used for a couple hundred bucks) and save yourself the frustration of missing thermals or worse - landing downwind because the app messed up.

Doesn't adjust GPS altitude to MSL, and relies on Legacy menu button. I have to force close to quit

I like the looks of this app and I know it works in flight but, as I have it installed on a Galaxy Tab S2 & not a phone, is there another way to access the menu? When I long press the left button on the tablet all I gets is a message saying that split screen is not supported. I need to change the display from metric to statute units.

I wish there was a manual or something because it took me a while and a random post on paragliding forum to find out why it wouldn't record my flights. Sensor has to be set accordingly with your phone. As for my s5, a set of 38 works well. I wish also it could be possible to edit/delete/organize the tracks, as it's the main function I'm using and it works effortless. Thanks for this free app !!

works now ..a little slow to start n seems to wait for the gps to acquire sats first. great little app for week ends,paragliding activities . thanks

3-1-15. Thanks for all the great work you have put into developing this app. Runs well on my GS4.sold my vario last year and right now my only flight instrument. .... 1-4-16. App freezes up when climbing in a thermal. Never had a problem before but. Now it is unreliable and driving me crazy. Rating dropped to 2 stars. :(

Barometer exist, sensor multitude shows pressure reading. However, this apps only worked 2 out of 10 times of starting. So I don't know if the app is not compatible with Marshmallow or it can't read the sensor reading. Sesnor I've got it with phone is BMP280 pressure from Bosch.

Not saving tracks on either Moto x 1st or 2nd gen.. Superb app for the Moto x gen 1..

Does not work completly on galaxy s3 mini. I can not save the tracks. It is energy demanding. It is consuming the battery to fast.

I am using it for paragliding. Makes it really easy to find thermals. Only thing missing is recording of altitude . I wish the sounds were a little louder. In short a great app.

Latest version worked great on a Samsung S4, now the app's sound is linked to the phones sound and and the sink sound is very annoying... almost like a very annoying alarm, please avail the previous version

i'm having trouble saving places on my S5, i was able to on my S4, so not sure what is wrong, whether it's my phone or something with the newer version. Also, i keep hitting the home button while flying and losing the screen, not so bad with light gloves in the summer, but horrible to get back when wearing thick winter gloves, almost impossible to recover while flying. it would be great if there could be a lock setting on the screen like with the video apps that will lock key input to prevent losing the app screen while flying.

Awesome app

The Samsung Galaxy S4 works well with this app. Squeezing the case of the phone has no effect. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is more tightly sealed to help make it more waterproof. Sadly, it does not leak air in and out easily, so the vario function does not work well. Light finger pressure on the phone squeezes the air inside the case, indicating strong sink. Lifting the finger indicates strong lift. Really not usable with this phone, though it is a good app.

I was able to make this app more responsive on the airtight S5 by simply opening the charge cover on the bottom a tiny bit.

Latest versioned worked great on samsung S4

Very Very good

It works as stated in description. The sensitivity seems to the changing wrong way round? ! Sliding the yellow bar way to the right makes it less sensitive on my S4 Samsung but this is minor or I might understand it wrong way round. Tha lag time between altitude change and audio beeps is a major concern and seems to be a generic one with other similar aps. Why can't it be instantaneous like a real vario?

Hey Mihai. thanks for a great app! I just have similar problems with the barometer initialisation on my Google Nexus 5. Other barometric apps work so its not the device it self. Thanks for trying to solve this

It does not show the correct altitude. I have set the right altitude but it changes after restart. Overall, very good app, vario accuracy is pretty good, interface is good too. Plus I can customize baro sensitivity.. Best vario app so far..

Didn't work on my S5. No menus just the main widget making noise that I couldn't shutoff or exit. Had to kill it to close it....
