About Character Recognition
This app utilizes the Tesseract OCR library to perform character recognition on images selected from the gallery or captured from the camera. Recognition results can be edited or copied to the clipboard for export.
The app ships with the English training data; recognition with other languages is possible but requires an one-time download of the training data for each additional language; the required data for languages other than English are not shipped with the app due to data size. As the user selects a different language the training data will be downloaded at that time. The download may take some minutes depending on the bandwidth. Once the dafa for a language are installed, OCR in that language can be performed directly in future runs of the app on your device.

It barely recognizes a small fraction of the text, even clearly typed and upright and in English

Now it works as i expected - useful to export OCR seems to work well

Force quits constantly, "capture" doesn't work (the sample image remains displayed), can't recognize even giant black letters on a simple white background, usually returns heaps of garbage characters, and last but not least...you can't do anything with the generated text even if it wasn't garbage! You can't export it, copy it to the clipboard, nothing!

It does recognize and read English,but the app is useless as you can't do anything with the text,it's read only :-(

Clearly didn't test this app. I love the idea but test it before you release it.

Nice, easy to use simple and aacurate OCR. Helps me to read some images with text posted in social media, since I have low vision disablitiy, and rely on Talkback's TTS to read the text. Great job. Thank you.
