ownStaGram for Android
no way to rotate photo. preview of filters does not work. hard to know if image is uploaded or not etc. many small improvements has to be done to ease usability. galaxy note 2.
As a "front-end" to Ownstagram, the app is currently at a proof of concept stage. Guess the developer could use some help developing. Needs work. Thumbs up for the single person devving.
I like the concept of my own photo sharing service but unfortunately the Android app is far too buggy t be usable for me. Having setup my own server (very easy and quick) I set about testing with some new photos and some in my phones Gallery. Unfortunately I only managed to get 1 picture uploaded (a new photo) and had a couple of ownStaGram crashes. Far too often the app just returned to the camera/existing photo selection screen and failed to upload anything. Also when in edit mode none of the effects other than the basic (and jagged) border worked - luckily though the effects I wanted had all been added by my Camera App (Camerafx). In case it is an incompatibility with my phone it is a UK spec Galaxy S3 running 4.1.2
For everyone who's weary about giving their pictures to Instagram (or any other hosted service) Ownstagram is a great alternative. Easy to set up on your own server, this app is great for everyone who wants to keep total ownership of their own images.

Works Great! I just take pictures in landscape since I can't rotate them. Syncs instantly with my server - faster than ownCloud . I add the border to the photos but I haven't figured out how to add effects. Love the app and the server software. Clone it from Git.
