About NIDD
National Institute On Development Delays (NIDD) is national resource centre based in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA , with a global outlook that strives to help children with developmental delays and their families worldwide. NIDD is the brain child of Fr. Paul Zahler O.S.B., Ph.D who is a Benedictine monk and belongs to St. Gregory’s Abbey in Shawnee, Oklahoma, USA. NIDD has a successful past in helping various countries to modernize their health care model, especially in the area of children’s health care. We have forged partnerships with various premier organizations and professionals serving children with developmental delays globally. In the year 1996, NIDD signed a contract with the Child Center at Munich University, Germany as collaborator to introduce their Vojta System to other countries. The Vojta System offers a preventative health care approach through an early diagnosis, therapy and intervention methodology. This early diagnosis approach detects possible future developmental delays during the very first days of the child’s life and offers therapy immediately. This breakthrough, developed by Dr. Vojta, a paediatrician from Munich University, effectively provides therapies for motor, mental, speech, behavioural delays, and early social integration. NIDD has developed its own activity based educational approach known as “Experience Quotient” to create optimal development among children in their first days of life. This approach immensely facilitates the potential to grow and develop by utilizing a child’s own human abilities and natural resources. Experience Quotient is a multifaceted and multidimensional, developmental model which seamlessly complements the Vojta System.
